Trump sends investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama
Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.
That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."
"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.
Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."
The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.
"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."
According to a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll, 72 percent of Americans say that the president was definitely or probably born in the U.S., with one in four saying that he was definitely or probably born outside the country. But the survey indicates a partisan divide, with 43 percent of Republicans but only 11 percent of Democrats saying that Obama was definitely or probably born outside the U.S.
In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth that reports his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii – a document the Hawaii government says is official evidence of his birth in the state. Among other evidence of Obama's birth there is the fact the hospital where he was born took out ads in two Hawaiian newspapers in 1961 announcing the birth, while current Gov. Neil Abercrombie says he knew Obama's family and remembers his birth.
In the broad interview, Trump also insisted he's more serious than ever about mounting a presidential bid, but said he can't make a final decision until this season of "Celebrity Apprentice" wraps up.
"I hate to say it. I have the No. 1 show on NBC. Is that the correct statement? The "Celebrity Apprentice" is doing great," said Trump. "You're not allowed to have a show on and be a candidate. It's a great show and it's got phenomenal ratings, and until that show is over I can't declare, otherwise NBC would have to take the show off the air and that would be very unfair."
The show is set to wrap up in mid-May.

NBC has shown its true colors–and they aren't the colors of a peacock. This entire Trump presidency scan is a vast media conspiracy to amp the ratings of Celebrity Apprentice and to see how high Trump's inflated ego can rise. When our republic collapses in shambles around us, we will have the fring elements of the left and right to thank–whose crazy elements were flamed by our fourth estate. After our collapse, I wonder if the press will be like cockroaches after a nuclear holocaust. Why didn't Meredith ask Donald if he is prepared to release his tax returns??? I personally am glad Trump is investigating this. If Obama has nothing to hide then there should be no reason to put it out there. It's that simple. But if it turns out that Trump is correct and there is no BC, then he's right this will be the biggest con job in American history.
The people who dive into the research of Obama's birth know the truth. Obama was NOT born in the USA and his short form cert is a fraud and here is why. In 1961, the short form was used ONLY for children born to mothers giving birth overseas. This registers the foreign birth with the State so that the child can travel back to his mothers home without a passport. In 1961, the long form birth certificate was given to all babies born in Hawaii. The short form and the fact that no one can find his long form in Hawaii is evidence that Obama was born abroad. It's about time someone with clout uncovers the truth.

I'm not sure what causes Alexander Mooney to make these assertions but if these things were true there would be no 'birther' movement. The truth is widely documented and easily established that the 'Certificate of Live Birth' that the Obama administration trotted out is NOT a documentation of birth in Hawaii. A Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth is created when evidence is provided to the state of Hawaii establishing that a person has been born and is documented to exist as a person, regardless of where they were born. At the time President Obama's Certificate of Live Birth purportedly was created, part of the process was notification of the birth in the newspapers. None of that has a single evidentiary connection to Barrack Obama's birthplace being Hawaii. Every person born in a hospital in Hawaii has a LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE which lists the physicians, witnesses, place of birth, parents names, race, etc. That is the only document that is acceptable for a broad variety of much less critical, and certainly not Constitutionally mandated compliance, identification requirements. Until Barrack Obama, the self proclaimed 'most transparent administrator', produces his Long Form Birth Certificate, the matter will be over. Until he does, denigrating patriots who insist on due dilligence as voting citizens will continue to insist that his qualifications haven't been established.
I appreciate the fact that Trump is looking into this. There is a dark cloud over Obama's presidency and everyone in the main stream media seems to be afraid to admit it. CORRECTION: Gov. Neil Abercrombie NEVER said he "remembers Obama's birth." CHECK YOUR FACTS! All he said was that he was in the state on Obama's birthdate. CNN is really twisting words here. He wasn't in the delivery room, he doesn't remember a baby Obama, and his first memory of Barack Obama was when he was about 10 or 11. Horrible reporting.
