Trump sends investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama
Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.
That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."
"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.
Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."
The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.
"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."
According to a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll, 72 percent of Americans say that the president was definitely or probably born in the U.S., with one in four saying that he was definitely or probably born outside the country. But the survey indicates a partisan divide, with 43 percent of Republicans but only 11 percent of Democrats saying that Obama was definitely or probably born outside the U.S.
In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth that reports his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii – a document the Hawaii government says is official evidence of his birth in the state. Among other evidence of Obama's birth there is the fact the hospital where he was born took out ads in two Hawaiian newspapers in 1961 announcing the birth, while current Gov. Neil Abercrombie says he knew Obama's family and remembers his birth.
In the broad interview, Trump also insisted he's more serious than ever about mounting a presidential bid, but said he can't make a final decision until this season of "Celebrity Apprentice" wraps up.
"I hate to say it. I have the No. 1 show on NBC. Is that the correct statement? The "Celebrity Apprentice" is doing great," said Trump. "You're not allowed to have a show on and be a candidate. It's a great show and it's got phenomenal ratings, and until that show is over I can't declare, otherwise NBC would have to take the show off the air and that would be very unfair."
The show is set to wrap up in mid-May.

I think this article speaks for itself. Too many people have been stone walled trying to settle this issue. Hopefully Mr. Trump can put this to bed regardless of the outcome. Eitherway this country needs a leader like the Donald. If he decides to run, he has my vote.

Trump doesn't realize..obama is the president of the USA. He has supporters and the power to cover up whatever he wants and so nobody will know the truth until obuma reveals it himself. The clinton's would have found the evidence if it was there. hillary had more to gain and as cutthroat and scheming as the clintons are, they found nothing. I would, however, donate to a fund to raise several millions dollars as a reward to the one weak person out there who would come forward with the truth. Money talks and so far, Trump hasn't offered anyone that 'carrot' to make them sing like a bird. I do believe obama is NOT a citizen so will support ANY effort to find the truth. How about obama's passpost record or talking to the place where his father was born? The truth is out there, Trump is looking in all the wrong places.

Umm CNN, it would be better to say that the Department of Health and Human Services took those ads out in the newspapers, which holds more water than saying the hospital did it.

The ads announced that his mother filed for a Certificate of Live Birth. They were not filed for his birth. Up until the 1980's anyone could file for a COLB even if they were not born in this country.
The line about the hospital posting birth announcements in two newspapers is either a lie or very poor fact-checking.
Even the people who support the claim Obama was born there don't claim that a hospital placed the ads. Did a hospital place an ad when you were born? Think people.
The claim is his grandparents paid for the announcements. However, no paper copy has been produced, only a microfiche that has not been substantiated. It is certainly not a "fact" as this 'Political Producer" claims here.
What is being claimed by Trump and many others is a Federal Crime, and a crisis of legitimacy for the current government. Why is this not written by a real reporter, reporting real facts?

This person in the White House could not get a Secret security clearance based on his use of an alias, dual national status at birth [UK / Kenya and US], and later by adoption [Indonesia]. The only passport that has been shown is the one issued AFTER he was President. The LT who saw his passport file was shot in the back of the head in a parked car in D.C. Google it.
I love Celebrity Apprentice and Donald Trump. He's an exceptionally smart guy (Whaton grad), he's a tough business man, and an incredible self-promoter. This birther thing and presidential run is all publicity. They ask, "What do you think about running for President," and he answers, "Watch my TV show!" Brilliant, just brilliant.

Just what we need. A candidate that has been bankrupt numerous times, financially, morally, and now proving to be intelledctually bankrupt also. Get rid of the clown parade and get serious about solving our country's problems. We can buy a ticket to watch the circus. Let those whose professions have been to govern get on with governing, but with the courage to make the tough decisions. Cutting alone will not solve the crises. It will take tax increases on businesses and the wealthy coupled with spending cuts to provide the much needed balance to restore the strength of the US (and along with it the world's) economy.
