Gingrich: Trump is 'inventive,' 'hangs out' with the GOP
Lynchburg, Virginia (CNN) - As one Republican advised Donald Trump to stop questioning President Obama's birthplace – another Republican laughed off Trump's queries and said Friday that the real estate mogul is "inventive" as he "hangs out" in the Republican Party.
After speaking at a conservative conference at Liberty University, Newt Gingrich spoke about the reality TV star turned potential GOP presidential candidate. One question he was asked: what does he think of Trump saying he's sent investigators to Hawaii to dig into claims that the president was not born there?
"I think that 'The Donald' is such an interesting person in every way…he adds a lot to the race," Gingrich said laughing.
Then, the former House Speaker added this about Trump: "He's very inventive. And I think, frankly, for a Republican Party that's sometimes a little bit dull - having somebody like Trump hang out is going to guarantee that [the press] will have a lot more to cover."
CNN contacted Trump's office for a response. A representative said "The Apprentice" star was traveling but may respond later.
Gingrich's comments come as Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio said in an interview that Trump should "not focus so much" on the "birther" issue.
Trump, who has said he is considering a presidential bid, had recently inflamed controversy by repeatedly questioning if the president was born in the United States. CNN has thoroughly debunked such questions.

Trump shows his total lack of judgment and qualification to run for president when he pursues this ludicrus claim of the Birthers.
Donald, dont you think there are other problems more important than this to deal with – like the budget, the millions of people out of work and those in African countries desperately trying to have democratic governments. You make a mockery of democracy with your comments and actions.
The Republicans will do a "tag team" battle with Obama. With dozens of candidates, each screaming a different diatribe against the President, we'll hear a constant barrage of criticism with no time to absorb the rebuttals.
Is this some kind of a joke? The Republican Party use to be respectable. Now it has turned into some kind of a sick and twisted joke for Fake Wrestling, Fake Un-Reality Television or some kind of publicity stint to sell advertising or books. Last time I checked Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck books were being for at the 99 cents store, can't even give them away.
Why is anyone listening to Newt Gingrich because it was Newt himself said "shutdown the government" without any after thought about what happened when he did the same and now he's got the nerve to use our military for his own political gain. Newt Gingrich is the most disgusting man without mentioning all his infidelities, he's totally disgusting and is destroying the image of the Republican party.

Donald Trump lost all of the little respect I had for him. He's a nasty arrogant man who feels the whole world centers around HIM. And that winery he now owns in VA – He best NOT put his name on any of the bottle because that will let me know and I will not buy it!!!
The only way the country will get out of the jam it is in right now is to get the "Donald" and Newt to run as a team against the current president. That would definitely be an awesome twosome.

Can anyone tell me what this Mythical requirement for a Birth Certificate is based on. It seems ike trump should be able to afford to have somone explain the Legal Qualifications to be President. A birth Certificate is not on the list and there are literally thousands of Natural Born Native US citizens who were never issued Birth Certifiactes becasue they were born on Federal land. (they like me got a Birth Registration form). Why is this even an issue, it has no legal merit and only exists in the minds of the ignorant.
