Trump talks birthers, White House adviser predicts his failure
Washington (CNN) - Real estate mogul Donald Trump kept up his birther blasts Sunday, while one White House adviser hoped his stock continues to rise.
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Trump called the situation surrounding President Obama’s birth certificate “very strange,” lamenting the negative connotation attached to “birthers.”
“The fact is nobody has any information. And his people in the United States don’t even know which hospital. His relatives don’t even know which hospital he was born in,” Trump told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley. “It’s a very strange situation, that’s all I can tell you. And you know, it’s a very sad thing because the people, the birthers, they got labeled and they got labeled so negatively and even the word birther is a negative word.”
In 2008, the Obama campaign released a copy of the certificate, saying the serial number was blacked out for concern over Hawaiian procedure. Since then, many news organizations and the Annenberg Fact Check Project saw the original with the serial number, an embossed seal and a stamped signature.
But that remains insufficient for the “Celebrity Apprentice” star who again said: “Why doesn’t he show is birth certificate,” before insisting he’d rather talk about other issues facing the United States.
“I don’t like to talk about this issue too much, because I really would rather talk about China, I would really rather talk about what OPEC is doing to destroy us, I would really rather talk about other things,” Trump said.
While the potential 2012 presidential contender continues to make the television rounds with his new mantra, White House senior adviser David Plouffe dismissed Trump’s rhetoric, saying it would not impact the overall 2012 race for the White House.
“There may be a small part of the country that believes these things, but mainstream America thinks it’s a sideshow,” Plouffe said on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday. “That’s not leadership, that’s a kind of a sideshow behavior.”
Plouffe also predicted a negative future for Trump in the presidential field.
“I saw Donald Trump kind of rising in the polls. Given his behavior, and the spectacle of the last couple weeks, I hope he keeps on rising,” Plouffe said. “There is zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people to do this job.”

President Obama's citizenship was researched and verified a long time ago by the State of Illinois, as well as those federal agencies tasked to confirm citizenship when he announced his candidacy for President.
In addition, the GOP, with it's millions upon millions of dollars and hundreds upon hundreds of lawyers, were not able to find any information to prove your ridiculous claim – when in 2008, more than anything, they wanted to defeat then-candidate Obama in the presidential election.
You may appeal to the ignorant, fearful GOP base, but Democrats and Independents see through your BS to the pathetic little man you are.

Boycott all things associated with Donald Trump. That is the answer. Do not do anything that will further give him money. It is obvious that facts are disregarded if they prove the president's citizenship.
I don't understand why this is still a talking point at all. The most obvious response is not that he has a birth certificate, but rather that it does not matter if he was born in the United States or not. His mother is an American Citizen and therefore so is he. United States Code title 8 Chapter 12 Subchapter 11 section 1401 states "The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:... (g) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years:" End of discussion.
The "Donald" and "Birthers" are WAY OFF BASE on their citizenship issues. *I* was born in Hawaii and the "Certificate of Live Birth" he discusses IS THE STANDARD BIRTH CERTIFICATE issued by the State of Hawaii. The Certificate that was shown on the program (I believe from the Internet) appears to be a CORRECT and VALID Birth Certificate from the State. No signature(s) is/are contained on the front of the certificate. There is an embossed State seal, and a Stamped signature on the BACK from the Clerk attesting to the fact that it is a true and correct copy!
I agree with Donald. If the President would show his birth certificate the question will go away.

It is the only way Trump can even stay relevant...it is the only way people even talk about him...
...maybe people should look into Trumps background and start bringing up his bankruptcies, there are certain jobs you can't have if you've had a bankruptcy...
