Obama's sister criticizes birthers
Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama's sister thinks the birther movement is "unfortunate."
"I think it's unfortunate. He was born in Hawaii, there is a tremendous amount of proof that has already been presented," Maya Soetoro-Ng told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview scheduled to air Tuesday. "I think that it is time for people to put that to bed, put it to rest completely."
And what about real estate mogul Donald Trump's repeated calls for the president to produce his birth certificate?
"Well, I think it's a shame and I think that my brother should definitely be president for a second term," Soetoro-Ng said. "And that's really all I have to say about it."
Trump, star of "Celebrity Apprentice," has made a second career out of questioning the president's birthplace, most recently on CNN's "State of the Union."
In 2008, the Obama campaign released a copy of the certificate, saying the serial number was blacked out for concern over Hawaiian procedure. Since then, many news organizations and the Annenberg Fact Check Project saw the original with the serial number, an embossed seal and a stamped signature.
The comments from Obama's half sister followed similar remarks by his aunt Saturday.
In an interview with CNN affiliate WHDH Zeituni Onyango said Trump is "lying."
"He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii," Onyango said. "A naked lie in the name of the Lord."
"I respect his wealth, but I only demand him to respect us," Onyango added. "And I challenge him. Let him call me and we'll talk."

Such an ridiculous argument. Republicans, keep on it because it makes you look insane. I know repubs like to say this isn't a race issue, but if it not, can you tell me the last time in the past fifty years anyone has even asked to see the presidents birth certificate? If he wasn't black you wouldn't be asking. Can you honestly say that without googling it right now, you have seen another presidents birth certificate.

Why won't he show us a VALID certificate? What he shows is a paper printed in 2007. I have a cert from Hawaii and it looks nothing like his certificate of live birth.
terry, va – His mother is dead, so's his father, so there's no living witness of the birth (the doctors and nurses must've done hundreds of births ever since, if they are alive). THERE IS NO SUCH A THING AS THE 'LONG FORM' ACCORDING TO HAWAIIAN LAW, get over it, they can't produce what does not exist. As for the 'grandmother' saying that he was born in Kenya, you must have seen the edited version of the interview. The old lady doesn't speak English so she needed a translator, the translator did not understood her answer to a question and said that she had said that he was born in Kenya, then she realized her mistake and said that the old lady WISHED that he had been born in Kenya. And anyone who sees the whole interview, and speaks the old lady's idiom, says that that's what happened.
But that doesn't mean anything to you, right?
Bob, it is NOT a "logical question"! Obama produced the form that is accepted nationwide and in accordance with the Federal Rules of Evidence and the rules of evidence for every single state in the country. You baggers want to rewrite the rules to satisfy your bigoted hatred for our AMERICAN president. And, since you don't have a clue, Obama cannot magically wave his pen and change the law or the rules. Hawaii officials have viewed the original and confirmed its existence. Full stop.

FYI – when I requested a copy of my birth certificate to obtain a passport back in 2003, I received the same document from the state of Pennsylvania as President Obama received from the state of Hawaii. It has the same exact information and the same statement "This is to certify that this is a true copy of the record which is on file in the Pennsylvania Department of Health, in accordance with Act 66, P.L. 304, approved by the General Assembly, June 29, 1953." Now, I do NOT have a copy of the "long form"; just this one and it is a legal document. Also, the certificate your mom receives from the hospital with your little piggies on it is a keep-sake document for the parents – who's to say if President Obama's mother was given one of those 50 years ago considering the state of race relations back then. AND if she was given that copy, who's to say she still has it now. I know people who do not have it and I know people who do. Bascially, the document he provided is legal and has been examined by many people over the last 3 years and would not have been issued if the record of his birth did not exist on file in the Hawaii Department of Health – end of story. One more comment – I love how The Donald was spouting off on State of the Union yesterday about how noone can remember his mother's room # at the hospital or her nurse's name etc. Um, if I went to the hospital where I was born 41 years ago, I doubt anyone would be able to tell me that information bout my birth. Also, I work in a medical records department and the room # etc. is not something that is kept for that length of time. lol... Then when Candy pointed out to him that one of the birth annoucements uncovered was proven to have been submitted by the HOSPITAL IN HAWAII where he was born, Trump says "well who knows – that was 50 years ago". So he expects ordinary people to remember every detail about his birth 50 years ago, but newspaper archives can't be trusted.... WOW – smart guy....

Birthers might be crazy, but you can't say Obama has proven anything. If he is not hiding anything why not show the document? It just doesn't make sense.
I think people forget or ignore that Obama's mother was an American citizen. Therefore, regardless of where he was born, he is still an American citizen.
What's the big deal about his birth certificate, if he has nothing to hide, why he does not show up the birth certificate? Who payed for his school? he went to elite schools, how he pay for it? well that's no our business I guess, but the Birth certificate sure is.
The DNC and Obama campaign must have a team of internet nerds ready to respond to every article that comes out on the subject of Obama refusing transparency to show his long form birth certificate and other records of his education, travel, etc. The responses are all very similar with a few words tweaked here and there. It is a professional effort to counter the simple request that all Americans face many times during their lives – to produce a copy of the long form birth certificate. The Norquist twins, born around the same time as Obama allegedly was born, have produced their long forms from HI signed by the delivering doctor. Why wont Obama?
Nobody is talking about the fact,which is documented, that his parents were married in February 1961,in Hawaii, 6 months before he was born. So they would have to travel half way around the world,while she was pregnant, in what? A 707 and several plane changes just to get to Kenya so he would be born there? it does not make sense!

This birther nonsense is an insult to the state of Hawaii and all Hawaiians. Time and again the state has confirmed the birth. Their forms may not be the same forms used in NY or Illinois but they are valid in every respect. These birthers are just mean, angry, feeble-minded people. Being a billionaire does not, in any way, make you smart. There are a lot of dumb billionaires floating around the world. Making money is not a sign of intelligence. It is a sign of over-bearing greed and a compulsive need for wealth.
It will not be put to bed. The republicans have not yet wasted enough taxpayer money and time on this distraction from the fact, that they have not one valid plan on how to help the country. The next election is more important to these fanatics than jumping in and helping the nation.

Did her American mother automatically confer American citizenship on Maya even though she was born in Indonesia and had an Indonesian father?
Does anyone have documentation that Maya is an American citizen?
If she is authentically an American citizen by what means did she obtain citizenship.
