Trump says he is Obama campaign's 'worst nightmare'

Wasington (CNN) – Top Obama advisor David Plouffe Sunday laughed off suggestions Donald Trump will ever be a serious presidential candidate, but the business mogul says he is actually the Obama campaign's "worst nightmare."

"I am leading a lot of polls and doing very well," Trump told Fox News Monday as part of his weekly segment for the network. "I can tell you I am their worst nightmare."

The comments come after Plouffe joked on ABC's "This Week" that he would love to face off against Trump in a general election match-up.

"I saw Donald Trump kind of rising in the polls. Given his behavior, and the spectacle of the last couple of weeks, I hope he keeps on rising," Plouffe said with a smile. "There's zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people to do this job."

But Trump contends the opposite is true:

"I am not the person they want to run against," he said. "They know it, and I know it, and I know it for a fact. Because I have a lot of people that, frankly, are contributors to him and they tell me, 'Donald you are not the person they want to run against.'"

Trump has not led the potential GOP field in any major poll. But a recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed "The Apprentice" host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are tied for second place with support from 17 percent of likely GOP voters, behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 21 percent.

He's a joke, and unless he has given his investigators special instructions he is likely to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that Obama is Hawaii-born. He is completely unable to produce his own 'real' birth certificate, because all you ever get is the certificate of live birth that Obama long ago produced. He's a joke and the punch line is "they elected his hair."

Hmmm, let's do it. Let's have it be Trump vs. Obama in 2011. Let's see who will win that contest–someone who many Americans believe is disconnected from the everyday realities of average American citizens, or someone who actually is disconnected from the everyday realities of average American citizens.

Delusional. That is the best word to describe "The Donald". He is only talking out loud so he can convince himself. Just another clown in the circus from the right.

Donald Trump is his own worst nightmare. If he does run for President, he would beat himself. If he does run he will simply be finishing out the April Fools month. He also needs to keep his sex life to himself rather than walking around talking about he"Screwed Ghadaffi".

Obama's worst nightmare is that the GOP realizes that they need a credible candidate to win. That has not happened yet. None of the people leading the GOP polls are credible. Romney's health care plan in Massachusetts is the model for Obama's health care plan. Huckabee only cares about social issues and only appeals to social and religious conservatives. Gingrich is morally challenged (ask his former wives). Trump is not credible on economic issues because he went bankrupt several times. Pawlenty was a terrible governor (since he spent most of his time in other states). We don't need to talk about Palin, because even Republicans are giving up on Palin. Obama can sleep well.

Trump is an arrogant s#&t. In all seriousness, if the citizens of this country were to be stupid enough to actually vote this idiot in, I'd move out of the country!! Luckily, the Tea Party lunacy not withstanding, Americans see Trump for what he is: a greedy, egotistic opportunist.

Trump has the nightmare part correct…….but I am relatively sure the President is not too worried. Talk about flawed,…he has more skeletons in the closet that one would find in a graveyard.

What Trump doesn't realize is that his TV show is seen as a sick brand of comedy and nobody will ever take him seriously.

Trump is the biggest narcisist I have ever read about. This guy ego is beyond comprehension. I think he should personally stop running his big mouth and run for POTUS so that the American people can deflate his ego for once and put him in his rightful place. He believes that because he has made lots of money, some of it by pulling a fast one on the likes of Kadafi, who is entitled to become POTUS. I say run more than your mouth Trump. Obama will wipe the floor with that rug you have on your head. Make our day you pompous loud mouth.

Our country is inching towards bankruptcy – who better to help leads us through it than someone who's resume is stacked thick with experience in bankrupting companies.
