Trump says he has good relationship with 'the blacks'

Washington (CNN) – As he continues to mull a presidential bid, or say he is mulling a presidential bid, business mogul Donald Trump is lamenting the fact President Obama appears to have locked up the black vote.

"I have a great relationship with the blacks," Trump told Albany's Talk Radio 1300 Thursday. "I've always had a great relationship with the blacks."

But Trump says it's a "very sad thing" such a high percentage of that demographic supports President Obama, for reasons, he believes, that are largely influenced by race. The discussion was spawned by a recent poll of New York voters that found 95 percent of black voters there approve of the president's job performance. The same poll found that the president's overall approval rating in New York stands at 54 percent.

"Look at Hillary Clinton," the reality television star continued in reference to the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race. "Hillary Clinton did so much for the black population, so much and got very few votes."

"Look, I tell it like it is," he added. "Then you hear a political reporter go on and say, 'It had nothing to do with race.' But how come she got such a tiny piece of the vote. It's a very sad thing."

Let's get real people, most of you crying wow and foul didn't say a thing when Harry Reid said about Obama “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” no outrage there right? You guys are funny, too bad your memory is only a few months long.

I was gonna respond, but no. CNN, you are complicit in this farce. No wonder you are becoming irrelevant as other credible news organizations are blowing you outof the water – for those of us who respect new and journalism. This tabloid trash is not journalism and shame you for following Trump around with your nose in his azz!

Plus he just gave me another reason not to vote for him (not that I needed another, but I'll gladly take it). I will always welcome a chance to poke fun and have a reason not to vote for The Trumpster.

Speak for yourself Donald. You've lost ALL credibilty with me. Just because you have black celebrities on your show doesn;t mean you have good relations with them. They're probably calling you a racists prick as we speak. Just look at Bill Cosby's response to your Birtherism. Now let's get something clear Donald. There are "black people" and then you've got "thugged out (deragotory term)." So if black people don't like you, that means us thugged out one's really can't stand you. I'm just stating the facts. When's the last time you been in the hood Donald? You're not very popular right now homeboy. You're liable to get jooksed or bodied if you walked through Jamaica Queens on Guy Brewer.

Look, Trump has his issues (as most folks do). But to take offense at the way he refers to black people...give me a break! This is one of the reasons I hate political correctness. People get bent out of shape at the way a person refers to someone or something, even when there are no racist or demeaning motives behind it, all the while ignoring the greater substantive point. And, in this case, the substance of what he says is, at the very least, a viable argument. If you don’t think that Obama’s support from the black community is due, in large part, to his skin color, then you have absolutely no grasp of reality. And this is sad because it is the very thing the late Martin Luther King Jr. fought so hard against.

I can't decide whether to vote Palin or Trump. After the cameras are installed, what would be better to watch on TV? "Sarah Palin's Whitehouse" or "Presidential Apprentice"?

"The Blacks". Huh. What's next? The Browns? The Olives? The Taupes? How about pathetic, pink eyed misogynists with sad combovers? It appears The Donald has been talking publicity with Charlie Sheen. Winning!

Funny how the birthers have no problem with Trump running for president despite the fact he's done business with a globally known terrorist like Gadhaffi. Guess blood money spends the same, eh? So much for Country First. At least Repubs won't have to change their bumper sticker – Profits B4 People or Money B4 Country. When it's time for Trump to open his books, watch for Trump to refuse to show his financials. My guess is he'll drop out before it comes to that. He would NEVER open his books. Too much to hide. Questionable deals and bankruptcies have hurt others before and Trump loves money and attention more than this country.

So, he's getting all the attention he wants while the birthers get a rich, white, male version of Orly Taitz to hold their attention for a while. Sounds like a deal Trump would make.

To Doug who said, "Sorry but the black vote is monolithic". Please speak of what you know. African-Americans are Independents, Republicans and Democrats.

Obama has a high approval with "the blacks" because, unlike Trump, he doesnt refer to them as "the blacks".

And Doug, Chicago has been run by Democrats since the 1930s and has one the strongest economies in the nation. San Francisco since the early 1960s, also one of the strongest metropolitian economies. We know that Detroits problems come from overseas outsourcing of the automobile industry, coupled with the higher performance of foreign cars over American, not the Democratic control. And actually, remember most black voters were Republican until FDR made policies that befinitted the population. When one of today's Republicans bothers to actually do something meaningful for the black American community, maybe they will finally get the "monolithic" black vote.

As an African American Donald, I can tell you specifically why I did not vote for Hillary. She voted FOR the Iraq War and President Obama voted AGAINST it. Clear distinction Donald. Race had nothing to do it. Their policy positions were pretty identical. Majority of the African American community OPPOSED the Iraq War. You would know that if you sat down in a barber shop or beauty salon. Get a clue idiot!
