Rice to appear on '30 Rock'

Washington (CNN)- Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will reunite with an old flame…in TV land. Tina Fey announced Thursday, on NPR's "The Leonard Lopate Show," that the Stanford University political science professor will make her star turn in an upcoming episode.

Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin) name-dropped Rice as his ex-girlfriend throughout the first season of NBC's "30 Rock" and it appears she will debut in "a couple weeks" as the fictional executive's former flame.

Calling Rice's spot an "amazing cameo," Fey lifted the veil on guest spot coordination saying, "Every now and then we hear that someone wants to come, but…usually we try and do it where we write the part first so that we have something good to offer them, because all actors like to see, you know, a juicy part."

Rice will be going where few political power players have gone before. Former Vice President and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore has appeared in a guest role on "30 Rock," but former President Bill Clinton turned down an opportunity to appear on the show.

  1. Robert Rice

She's a war criminal who ought to be behind bars, not on TV.

    P.S. No relation.

Why? Were they short of a person that helped drive the nation off a cliff. Not to mention a failure at foreign relations.

Rice is like a puppet, you take her off script and she's totally lost, "they" programmed her very well.

I'm still waiting to see Dubya, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld in the remake of "Judgement at Nuremberg". Why do Republicans love war criminals?

Why isn't she in prison? If the Bush administration can commit war crimes, can the rest of us get away with a few petty ones?

Hopefully someone will remind her about the smoking gun being a mushroom cloud. She is despicable.

Maybe Chevron will honor her again by naming another Supertanker after her, or ask her to sit on the Board of Directors again?
Gotta love Republican politics! Forget hiring Lobbyists when you can simply get Robber Barons to run the White House and set domestic / foreign policy that directly lines their colleague's pockets! Have a nice day.

This woman has accomplished a lot in her lifetime, but I swear to you everytime I look at her she reminds me of a Black female version of Alfred E. Newman (MAD magazine)!

"30 Rock" must be a better paying gig than Fox News.
