Washington (CNN) - Sex, lies and murder. Americans seem to love conspiracy theories and too-good-to-be-true rumors - type "George W. Bush IQ" into Google and watch what you get - especially when it comes to politics.
Did you know that George Washington wasn't the nation's first president? The Mob killed JFK. And, oh yeah, President Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

The fact is the GWB is dumb.
Myth #5: I recall the environmental debate that raged on when the site for the Twin Towers was selected. One of the topics that was argued was the wisdom of putting such tall buildings on the ocean front. What if a hurricane blew in of the ocean?
Some said the Emprire State Building had survived such storms. But, it was in mid-town, which means that there were dozens of blocks of buldings that served to break up steady winds, particularly at the base of the tower. That is when the architect made a statement that I will never forget.
The statement didn't make sense to my teenage mind at the time. It stuck in my mind for years. Maybe it motivated me on some subconcious level to study sciences in college. I dunno. It stuck. The architect's exact words as I remember them were, "The buildings will fall down before they will fall over." Those words didn't make sense until 2001.
Myth #12: Trickle Down Economics creates jobs. This myth does not take much in the way of research. Look at the history of when it has been implemented and the resulting recessions and economic stagnation that followed. The theory looks and sounds good on the blackboard. Unfortunately, simple greed trumps chalk and erasers.

Myth...Most African Americans only voted for Obama because he's black
Truth...Yes there were some who only did that, but the majority of them voted for him because he's a DEMOCRAT. Had Clinton won the nomination they would have voted largely for her as well.
It saddens me why the only non-white president has to prove he was actually born in the US.
Myth #13: Conservatives are the job creators. This is actually true. Most of the major business leaders that i have met are conservatives, and vote that way. So, it is true in a sense. Conservatives create more jobs than liberals. Unfortunately, this is only true in the business world and not the political world. In the political world, conservatives seem bent on destroying jobs.
Here's a good myth: the proliferation of consumer debt products helps the economy and job creation by bolstering demand while allowing businesses to refuse to raise wages for decades, which "saves" businesses money that they will then divert to expansion (not just the pockets of their owners and executives). What's more, the businesses can then invest in those consumer debt products (think: mortgage-backed securities), which allows them to create a financial feedback loop by making money of salaries they pay their employees, which are designed to allow them just enough to pay their consumer debt and its frequently (and purposefully) usurious interest rates that inflate the value of the secuties based on those products. It's perfect...businesses never need to raise average middle-class wages ever again.
