(CNN) - A candidate for Wisconsin state Supreme Court justice has asked the Government Accountability Board to investigate possible violations of state election law by Waukesha County election officials.
The campaign of JoAnne Kloppenburg filed a formal complaint Wednesday, asking for the appointment of a special investigator to conduct the inquiry specifically regarding Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus.

JoAnne Kloppenburg you ran, you lost, get over it. I know it is within your right to call for a recount. However, it just makes you look like a sore loser. You are better than that. So just move on.
Bottom line, Republicans will win anad democrats will whine.
They should be checking how many dead Union Workers Voted, they learned alot form Chicago.
I believe Kloppenburg won and now Wisconsin is trying to pull a Jeb Bush. RECOUNT!!!
That's what you get when yuo screw around and one of the candidates is an Assistant AG. Dummies. This is nothing new either. Nicklaus has been under fire for a while now for moving all election processes and vote tabulations, etc., off the public system and onto personal computers. The whole fiasco and the legitimately questionable nature of Waukesha County's votes were both entirely foreseeable and they are PRECISELY why all of that information and data should ALWAYS remain on public systems. The only reason we don't have GOPers lined up around the block screaming "voter fraud" like they always do and looking for someone's head to roll is because the votes went in their favor and the community isn't predominately minorities.
Here we go again... Democrats and the looney left just hate democracy, especially when they get rejected in the process.
When Democrats and union thugs can't win ... ask for a re-count and magically create more votes.
thats a waste of time and money.... get over it....you are a looser....
Complain all you want but in the end you LOST. It was a beautiful thing and a good laugh to boot.
Good idea. Nickolaus at the very least needs to be fired. NO State business belongs on personal home computers. This is one shabby way to do an election.
Given the miracle votes, a recount should have been a given.
Been wondering just how reliable vote counting is, in general, in the US. The big issue for me, is how many illegal immigrants are voting in our elections????
Regardless of party affliation, a recount IS necessary. This isn't the first time that this Nicklaus woman has been under scrutiny for election violations. Using her home computer to tally votes isn't exactly professional ... let alone legal.
I have an ideology about luck.
Consistent good luck is due to skill and superior talent.
Consistent bad luck is due to incompetence and gross negligence.
This clerk has made this identical mistake more than once. Her party has benefited from the good fortune that she has repeated had in finding more votes for her party's candidate. Her results have always been one-sided. That takes skill.
Personally I think it's the smart thing to do, the recount, that is. How will the people in Wisconsin ever trust the system they have in place without a final and complete recount? I know I couldn't. Especially when this clerk has come up with votes after the fact before to sway the election. And the board that investigated it was also the same board that instructs these clerks, so how do we know their findings aren't simply CYA?

Democracy legislated in WI that when the difference in votes is less than 0.5%, as it was here, the ostensible loser of the race has an absolute right to request and receive a recount paid for by the state...no questions or challenges to that right to a recount can stop it. Seems to me that if you don't like the legislation that democracy wrote in WI, it's really you whose the one who can't stand democracy. Moreover, given the questionable nature of the results AND the suprising turnout of 60% more voters than expected, one would think that any democracy lover would recognize that democracy and the integrity of WI's voting procedures and systems are well served by going through the process of a recount so that everyone can know what the results really were. If she loses the race, she and the Dems still one anyway considering that she came so close and closed what was almost a 30% gap during the primary that determined who would be the two candidates in the runoff.

Couldn't have said it better. She probably had Dubya's computer program on HER PC that changed all the D votes to R votes. She's done this over and over and over and over and ................... FIRE her and recount. Or maybe do like W and take it to the US Supreme court and let them be the ones to decide in favor of the R. What a joke – and we monitor other countries. Maybe our elections need an independent monitor and NO PCs
