(CNN) - In the aftermath of the killing of Osama bin Laden, a picture is emerging of a long, complex, dangerous and circuitous route to the compound that was the site of the special forces attack.
FULL STORY
Regardless of how many years in the making it took, the intelligence the raid took place under was credible. I always thought, as I'm sure many other Americans probably did, how in the world were OBL's audio and videotapes getting out? He had to have a courier. Whether or not OBL was in the compound, you can assume a high value target was there.
Since CLINTON we've been trying to accomplish that. YEARS in the making. But only ONE president could push forward and accomplish what neither Clinton nor Bush could do.
So if it was "years in the making", why is Obama getting all the credit? Oh yeah... it's the CNN blogs. Nuff said.
I heard that Bush and Cheney paid Pakistan for 6 years to hide Bin Laden so they could control Americans using fear. It makes sense to me - look at all the Press conferences, the campaigns of the republicans in those years.
Thank GOD President Obama would NOt go along with those political games. It was harder for our intelligence people to find him, but it GOT DONE.
Thank-you People "was in the years making" This News of Bin Laden should have been Head New Three years ago!! Wake- Folks!! The President had this infomation 3 years ago!! I don't know about you people but this sounds just Fishy to us! One day go by and now everyone is saying President Obama is the GReatest President in History! Please Come on Mr. Obama Track record is not that good!
So the origins of this successful operation began under President Bush and VP Dick Cheney using methods that Obama and the Democrats have criticized him heavily for. And the people that reveled that information are incarcerated in Gitmo, which Obama and the Democrats have attacked and tried to close. How ironic it is that he, the country and all of us now benefits greatly from all of this supposedly bad stuff. So when will Obama and the Democrats be sending official recognition for all the good work done over the years to George Bush and Dick Cheney? I'm sure the letter is in the mail.... yeah right.
the us was planning on killing osama since 911... of course its been in the making ,,,, obama didnt event this.. the cia and special operations did all the work..
Thank you Presidents Bush and Obama.
Gotta love the GOP trying to take all the credit for itself and Bush and morons like Steve King claiming it was the "enhanced interrogation techniques" that produced this courier. The records of KSM's captivity actually show that KSM did NOT give up the courier's nome de guere (nickname) under torture nor under threat thereof, but in fact gave it up several months later during normal interrogation conditions. AP has updated its stories to accurately reflect that, but the "liberal news media" is avoiding it because it ruins the GOP's claims, thus destroys the idea that there is any real debate about it to sensationalize. Faux Noise and the GOP, of course, are busy spreading the wholely inaccurate and untrue belief that torture produced these results in order to get it into peoples' heads so they won't be accurately informed and will give Bush and the GOP undue credit. Other statiosn are also doing it because they can't be bothered to fact check. Moreover, the Bush administration made all kinds of comments for years about not being concerned about bin Laden's whereabouts, and actually shut down the CIA's bin Laden unit (known as Alec Station) in 2005. The Obama administration put that CIA unit back into play and it played a major role in what happened this past weekend. Get on the ball Borger...you've given us another fluffy gloss-over piece designed to do nothing more than stir the sensationalized controversy pot, not answer questions and provide information.
