Palin: There are serious questions that demand answers

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin raised "serious questions that demand answers" about the successful mission in Pakistan that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. And she commended "fighting warriors in our armed forces" while speaking at the Tribute to the Troops benefit at Colorado Christian University Monday night.

In remarks posted on her SarahPAC website Tuesday, the possible presidential candidate reflected on the U.S. special forces mission in Pakistan and made recommendations for military policy moving forward.

"There's no military in the world that could have accomplished what that young team of SEALs accomplished," she said. "But there are still many questions that demand answers."

Palin questioned how long bin Laden lived in "an affluent city outside Islamabad" and not "in a dark cave in the mountains." She asked why the "most wanted man in the world" was able to avoid detection and whether Pakistani leaders were assisting him.

"There are lots of questions, lots of questions about the burial, about photos; and those things will certainly be disclosed, we must trust," she said.

The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee outlined a five-step formula for the effective use of force, partly based on policies of President Ronald Reagan, according to Palin.

Among them, "If we have to fight, we fight to win" by using "overwhelming force;" having "clearly defined goals and objectives before sending troops into harm's way," because, "If you can't explain the mission to the American people clearly and concisely, then our sons and daughters should not be sent into battle;" and sending armed forces as a last resort.

"We don't go looking for dragons to slay," Palin said.

"Remember, Reagan liked to keep it simple, yet profound. Remember what he would say to the enemy? He'd say, 'we win, you lose.'"

Ms. Palin – The PRESIDENT will decide just what YOU need to know. I thank God that you were nowhere near those making decisions for this mission. GO BACK TO ALASKA - IF THEY'LL HAVE YOU - AND LEAVE THE USA TO THOSE MORE CAPABLE!

"There are serious questions that demand answers." Welllll......I agree!!

1.) What makes you assume your opinion (late as usual) means anything?
2.) What makes you think you are fit to serve as anything more than a bad example?
3.) When are you going to SHUT UP and GO AWAY?

    I'm waiting.....

Does she ever have an original thought? As the mother of a soldier that deployed twice to Iraq, I find her to be offensive and hypocritical.

Apparently she hasn't looked at Iraq. That was a dragon that George W. Bush wanted to slay. She doesn't understand that Iraq was a war of choice that Bush could have skipped. The Neo-Con thinking of forcibly putting a form of democracy on a country that hasn't had one in a good long time if every is slaying a dragon in a sense.

Palin questioned how long bin Laden lived in "an affluent city outside Islamabad" and not "in a dark cave in the mountains." She asked why the "most wanted man in the world" was able to avoid detection and whether Pakistani leaders were assisting him.

The answer is simple. The Bush Administration was focused on Iraq, and they did not think bin Laden was all that important. Ask Bush. He said so himself.

This approach to getting into a military conflict is profound and elegant. You would think it is obvious but apparently not. Take, for instance what we did in Iraq, in Afghanistan and in Libya. Instead of going in with the attitude to quickly win and then get the hell out, we went in to show how angry we were without offending anyone. Huh? Each time we ended up staying and costing in both resources and lives much more than would ever make sense. " We win. You lose." is the kind of comittment any military action should be based on.

No.. No there arent. Just because SHE, WE, I.. do not know whats going on, doesnt mean we NEED or have the right to demand answers. This operation proved it.
Imagine if Obama would have taken his plan to congress... OH BROTHER.. that would have been a major red tape clusterfuck. The republicans wouldve definitely sabotaged the mission just as much as they are now trying to rewrite history in their favor. But since cool hand luke Obama kept quiet while birthers were busy ripping him about not being a citizen.. he was secretly doing what NO ONE was even thinking about... taking out OBL. The public doesnt need to know everything we're doing. Its not in the best interest of the country. Just like we didnt tell Pakistan we were coming for their house guest. The mission wouldve failed. But some people have to be the grown ups while everyone is acting childish, and that someone will reap the rewards of such behavior.
Palin isnt entitled to see ANYTHING. This is a mission that happened in Pakistan by a covert team that took years to orchestrate, and like many black opt missions, the public isnt always entitled to those details as that info puts our soldiers in even further danger.

The only question that needed to be answered was...
DID OBL take one in the heart or the brain?
    Brain? cool.
    question answered.
    U-S-A... U-S-A!

Sarah Palin needs to read the ten commandments. Thou shalt not have no other gods before me. Reagan was a man plain and simple. He was President and ran the country into a deficit just like George W Bush.
Now I can say it was a combination of the last decade in our ability to have anti-terrorism to have killed bin Laden.
But our troops and President Obama took the risk and made it possible by the grace of God they succeeded.

Amazing how this woman's utterances are still considered newsworthy. Says she has "serious questions that demand answers". I would love to see her engaged in a serious debate with all candidates. Truly there is nothing serious about this woman. Can you imagine her as our leader ordering the action that was just undertaken to take out Bin Laden? She only understands what is spoon fed to her. Serious is not a word to describe her but vindictive certainly is!!

Could someone please inform this bimbo about Islam and the requirement that a body must be buried within 24 hours? And then could someone please remind this bimbo that Reagan's policies failed mightily due his clueless, outrageous and arrogant stance on Russia? And then, finally, could someone remind this bimbo that high-priority operations conducted by any members of the armed forces are secretive for a reason? Sakes. Shut up, Sarah. Your time in the spotlight is so over.

Yeah if it was a Republican President...the righties would be goose-stepping and proposing we go invade another country.
Or President McWarmonger would have a Mission Accomplished party on an aircraft carrier or acting like a Fascist Dictator.
Sarah please shut the heck up with your petty jibberish...you wouldn't even know what to do with the answers even if you had them.
