Palin: There are serious questions that demand answers

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin raised "serious questions that demand answers" about the successful mission in Pakistan that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. And she commended "fighting warriors in our armed forces" while speaking at the Tribute to the Troops benefit at Colorado Christian University Monday night.

In remarks posted on her SarahPAC website Tuesday, the possible presidential candidate reflected on the U.S. special forces mission in Pakistan and made recommendations for military policy moving forward.

"There's no military in the world that could have accomplished what that young team of SEALs accomplished," she said. "But there are still many questions that demand answers."

Palin questioned how long bin Laden lived in "an affluent city outside Islamabad" and not "in a dark cave in the mountains." She asked why the "most wanted man in the world" was able to avoid detection and whether Pakistani leaders were assisting him.

"There are lots of questions, lots of questions about the burial, about photos; and those things will certainly be disclosed, we must trust," she said.

The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee outlined a five-step formula for the effective use of force, partly based on policies of President Ronald Reagan, according to Palin.

Among them, "If we have to fight, we fight to win" by using "overwhelming force;" having "clearly defined goals and objectives before sending troops into harm's way," because, "If you can't explain the mission to the American people clearly and concisely, then our sons and daughters should not be sent into battle;" and sending armed forces as a last resort.

"We don't go looking for dragons to slay," Palin said.

"Remember, Reagan liked to keep it simple, yet profound. Remember what he would say to the enemy? He'd say, 'we win, you lose.'"

Sorry QUITTER, you've spent the last two years running your ignorant mouth about things you knew nothing about, fostering lies, and actively trying to undermine the legitimacy of the Commander in Chief. You don't get to "demand" anything. You get to sit down, shut up, and listen. If you do, MAYBE you'll learn something about how grownups actually solve problems and defeat real threats to this country, but, given your track record of failure, I doubt it.

Palin wonders how long bin Laden lived in "an affluent city outside Islamabad" and not "in a dark cave in the mountains." She asked why the "most wanted man in the world" was able to avoid detection" ...

“I truly am not that concerned about him," Bush said at a White House press conference on March 13, 2002.
Bush said in 2006 that capturing bin Laden is “not a top priority use of American resources."

    Duh.

Not paying attention to what your Republican leaders were doing? Like taking the focus off bin Laden, and going after Iraqi oil instead?

Sound bite foreign policy is as foolish as it is dangerous. And as far as Reagan's record and the attempt to present it as "holy" and successful, there are only two words necessary to debunk that fallacy: "Iran" and "Contra". Now, will journalist start to do their jobs please?

You and Michelle must have missed the same history class. There are a few military forces that could have accomplished this feat. Clearly history has shown the Mossad equally capable. Study up girl or you aint going nowhere!

Yes Sarah, there ARE a lot of questions to be answered, questions like "why werent you informed beforehand? Why did you have to find out the same way other regular Americans found out? How can you interject yourself into this and make it seem like you may be relevant? Go home, stay there, you're 15 minutes expired a while back.

Yeah, and Reagan's 11th commandment was "Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican" (even if you think they are just mainstream, establishment, elite, blue-blood, RINO, or knuckle-dragging Republicans). What Sarah thinks and says doesn't matter anymore, if it ever did – most everyone would agree with some of her points, but she has no clue on how to implement them, esp how to do so without decimating some other portion. And she doesn't think we should end oil company subsidies? This chick is off the charts.

Sarah Palin don't have a clue as to what is going on. She is unable to control her family life what makes her think that she can give advice on political affairs. She is trying to stay in the spot light for up coming Presidenal chair. I don't think so.

Please – can someone put a sock in her uneducated mouth? Why do we have to listen to her comments. Everytime she opens her mouth CNN puts it on the front page. Enough already. She needs to stay at home with her eunuch husband Todd.

Hm, she is clearly ignorant of the great talent of the Israeli special forces, if she thinks that the US guys are the only ones who could execute a mission like this. Not that I'm any fan of Israel, but their special forces are second to none, I have to admit. So in addition to her ignorance of this rather widely known fact, she comes up with all these BRILLIANT questions that have been being asked all over the blogosphere – and acts as if she thought of them herself. Pathetic.

Sarah, what about the budget debates that went on and you disappeared. Oh, I forgot, that's the hard stuff, it's the easy stuff you can repeat after hearing or reading it on the blogs. Michele Bachmann was on the firing line right alone with the boys talking budget and Palin disappeared, that's why I give Bachmann credit, she attacks the tough stuff, Palin hides.

Ms Palin has no experience on which to base any comment here. She is speaking as a private citizen who appears to enjoy the sound of her own voice more than the rest of us enjoy hearing it. She does not contribute to the discussion.
Could we have a Palin-free month to see if she would be missed?

    I agree . . .
There are a lot of "serious questions" to be answered. Better that serious people ask them.

And ditto to Trump, Angle, Bachmann, O'Donnell – not to mention, Beck and Limbaugh

Half-term Gov. $arah Palin is irrelevant as well as being an idiot. Just stop covering her. She obviously knows nothing about what went on.

This woman is always talking a bout Reagan this and that...when is she going to state her own ideas? And of course she will find a way to spin this against the Obama administration. "How did Obama not know that the CIA didn't know that Pakistan didn't know Obama was there? Sounds like Obama missed a step somewhere". This woman is frustrating.

Pretty big questions for someone that failed as a mayor and was booted out of the Governors chair for expense theft. It is very clear that Palin is as anti American as they come.
