The president had the judgement to make tough decisions that led to the killing of UBL when no one knew what was going on so I trust his judgement in this case. Just because the masses are hungry to see blood and gore, is not a reason to publish theses photos. And for the idiot terrorists that want proof of his death. I say you prove to us that he's alive. You are beneth us and are not worthy of a response. USA!!!!!!!

    Of course he doesnt...
    1) The already stated that he was unarmed
    2) They conveniently said that they dumped the body out at sea

I do believe that they captured him though. He is probably in some CIA holding site getting slowly tortured (which doesn't bother me a bit).

This will only get the Obama administration in more trouble ultimately. If folks challenged him about his birth certificate I highly suspect that he will really be the subject of much tabloid fodder.

It makes you wonder, why an administration so adamant on torture at Guantonomo, orders a "hit" on Osama? Whole thing smells of calculated politics.

This proofs that Bin Laden is not dead, he is just Debriefing at Langley. Cutting his beard and getting ready for another mission

Ever wonder why more and more people can't believe anything the government says? This story is a real good reason!

That's fine, seems Bin Laden's daughter is convinced of his death. I wouldn't have dumped his body out at sea; though it makes perfect sense why the administration did exactly that. I would embalm his ass and put him in a glass box at Area 51 so all future presidents and covert operators can be inspired. More valuable than King Tut

While the right will no doubt try to spin this as either grandstanding by Obama or evidence of some pointless, bizarre conspiracy, the fact is that this President has successfully distinguished himself as a statesmen in everything he has done, which is quite a departure from the last president.

Bush essentially threw lavish parties for himself when something made him think he'd scored a victory, such as the pathetic and idiotic photo op on the aircraft carrier after he decided, incorrectly, "Mission Accomplised." His decision to release the photos of Uday and Qusay Hussein was a stupid, sick gesture to the voyueristic community who loves having their wars as long as other people fight them.

Kudos to this President for having the maturity to realize that propoganda – whether real (photos of Uday and Qusay) or staged (the aircraft carrier) always does more harm than good.

Another good decision by the President. We have the DNA matched, that's enough, time to move on ...

I disagree with just about everything else this administration has done. However, the way President Obama has handled himself on this particular issue – killing bin Laden and not releasing horrible photos – is absolutely the right decision, in my mind. Even if he bin Laden wasn't armed, how would the soldiers know he didn't have a hidden bomb vest to commit suicide with (and kill them too)? And why would we release pictures at this time when we know what they will result in (more deaths in the middle east among his remaining followers)? Instead, release the pictures in 25 years or so, or however long it takes to let this blow over. Again, while I can't agree with the president on pretty much anything else, he has done a very fine job on this issue, and he has my support on this.

We can see video and images of the twin towers being destroyed and innocent Americans jumping out of the buildings to their death but we cannot see one image of the dead man that was in charge of all of this?

I understand the difficulties in releasing the photos beacuse of the dilemmas it may bring. However the photos should absolutely be released due to the sole fact that our American citizens and others across the world should have the satisfaction of knowing this is the truth. I dont beleive in conspiracy theories and people stating that he is not dead, I believe it. All of the people deserve to see the horrid individual who put so many American families through pain and suffering of lost loved ones.

  16. Fine.

The arguments about this poor choice will add nicely to the toxic hate filled political discourse we have going.

Thanks to all the birthers out there. When Obama released his birth certificate twice, you all said it was a fake. If he released the bin Laden photos, you all would still say its a fake. So whats the point of releasing them if none of you animals will ever be satisfied. We get it, you all hate Obama with a deep seeded passion, nothing he does will ever be right. Whether its due to race or politics, the guy cant seem to please anyone. So, thanks again birthers for being the fringe and ruining it for everyone

A most intelligent choice; in fact, the only one.
What could possibly be gained by such an insensitive display?
Praise to the President for his decision.

That's because he lied to the American people about Osama's death.

This is a democracy, not a monarchy. Someone needs to remind Osama of that. The American people
want to know the truth. This is without a doubt going to destroy any chance he has of a re-election.

This is completely bogus. I consider this a complete obamanation that he will not release the photo. The World needs to see him dead!

As gruesome as it would be, I think releasing the photos would extinguish the growing "deather" movement of people who think this was all staged. But then again, folks like that still believe we faked the moon landing and the Holocaust never happened, so no amount of evidence would persuade them otherwise and may just inflame our enemies.

I totally agree with this call. though I would love to see the size of the hole blown in that SOB's head. a photo would only inflame his supporters, and cause problems for US citizens and our troops abroad. if al qaeda had pics of 9/11 victims, and spread them across the internet it wouldn't help them at all, it would only hurt their cause. obama understands this, he's a smart leader and not one swayed only by popular opinion. of course the taliban want the photos released.. they want to increase the anti-american sentiment around the world... smart call obama!!

I think they HAVE to be released ... If I was a 9/11 relative of someone who was killed by this man, don't think I could have any kind of closure just hearing the fact "DNA is 99.9% Osama." I would still want to see for myself. What's the problem – why not show us Americans who our enemy is/was? I feel it's our right. If someone doesn't want to look, then don't.
