‘Shut up and move on,’ Kerry says

Washington (CNN) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry said it is time to stop questioning the exact occurrences in Osama bin Laden’s house before his death in Abbottabad, Pakistan, at the hand of U.S. Navy SEALs.

“I thinks those SEALs did exactly what they should have done,” the senator from Massachusetts and 2004 presidential nominee said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “And we need to shut up and move on about, you know, the realities of what happened in that building.”

Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the information gleaned from bin Laden’s compound underscores his active role in the terrorist network.

“He was, in fact, the center,” Kerry said.

He also praised the Obama administration’s handling of the situation, despite errors in initial information disseminated by the White House, something he said is “the nature of the beast.”

“Letting these folks know that we have this information is actually a way of deterring certain activities from taking place,” Kerry said. “So I think they’re (al Qaeda) on the defensive, significantly so. And I think strategically the administration has done very, very well.”

First time I would ever agree with the Ketchup King, however I assume he is directing his comment to Barry in the Whitehouse regarding his 2012 VOTE FOR ME I KILLED OSAMA campaign SPIKE THE BALL tour.

The price of meat has just gone up and your old lady has just gone down...Frank Zappa, I am the slime from your video!

I agree with Senator Kerry – we don't need to reveal any more means, methods, sources, or anything else that would prove valuable to our enemies.

I can't understand how the republican party has become so anti-American and anti-U.S. Military. They used to support the military. I gather this is one of the reasons so many good historical republicans have left the party and none of them will run for president.

Has anyone noticed how silent the NRA is about the last thing BinLaden's saw was an American pointing a GUN at his head, and Obama sent him there. Odd how they speak out about the 2nd Amendment and gun rights when the Arizona Congresswoman was shot, but they're silent when a terrorist who killed thousands of Americans is shot. Whose side are they on?

Wow ... people, seriously. If you are Americans writing in DEFENSE of Osama then MOVE. You don't deserve to be here. They had a kill order, they did their job, and it needed to happen. Who cares if he was armed? He sent his people to our country with a kill order on defenseless citizens and thousands of WOMAN, CHILDREN, AND MEN were killed. Osama got exactly what he deserved and how anybody in this world could say otherwise amazes me.

More nonsense from the Corporate Jim Crow media. More Obama bashing from its perminant members. Nobody from the Bush administration should ever again apear on TV or any serious media outlet. Thanks to the Obama administration, they are allowed to live their lives in peace instead of answering questions and being held accountable in the Hague. That is where they all belong, along with certain members of the media, who enabled them to continue to lie and advance destruction and hate around the world.

Great job by the Seals and by our intelligent community.

Quit politicizing it. We should all be happy Bin Laden is dead. The war against Islamic terror will continue, but it was a great victory.

"Shut up and move on?" Seriously? Look, I am in agreement that the Seals did what they were supposed to do, but we need transparency. If not for us, for our relationship with other countries. We are in a democracy. not a fascist regime where we need to listen and accept everything that our dictator tells us.

I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and couldn't help noticing all the right wingers books in the Social Climate and Politics sections. They had titles like Pinheads and Patriots, and other variations on how the left wingers have caused this country to be weak. I laughed to myself. Why? All talk and no action. Tax breaks for the rich, funding two wars that drove the economy into the ground, while all the while President Obama and the lefties got the guy the conservatives were after all along.

Two major points were focused on during the election. He's not the right guy for national safety, and he's not the right guy for the economy. Now that the Dow is twice what it was when W left office and the US added 244,000 jobs last month and the central figure in the War on Terror has been killed, what will the conservatives say about President Obama now? Why not just say what's really on your mind (yeah, the race issue)?

Sure wish we could enjoy one day of complete peace. If you can read this, go kiss your mother. If you don't have one, go find something equally productive to do and spread some joy to someone who deserves it!

The GOP hates President Obama so much that they are willing to question the lntegrity and the loyalty of the Navy Seal, the men who put their lives on the line every day to protect ours. How pathetic!

I think Sen. Kerry has a touch of the elitist syndrome and needs to be reminded that "he is the public servant here" and needs to be fielding the taxpayers questions. For crying out loud you'd think Obama ran over there an man'd up and shot Osama himself... which we all know is ridiculous.

Even if OBL hadn't been involved in 9/11, it would have still been worth doing.

    End of story.

We don't know what happened in that compound. Few people ever will. We can only talk about hypotheticals. Unless, strong evidence comes to light that somebody broke a US or international law (unlikely to ever happen), we should just move on.

Anyone who wants to blame the SEAL's or President Obama regarding this justified killing is being completely ignorant of the facts. The facts that this man was responsible for thousands, if not tens of thousands of murders, against muslims, christians, jews, Americans, Kenyans, Pakistani, ect. The kinds of people he killed were YOUR kind of people, regardless of who you are. He did not deserve a trial. No one doubted his guilt as he had taken credit for his killings many times. In the global world, he was condemned to die and his sentence was carried out.

Stop being an ignorant fool who wants to use the death of this mass murderer as a political tool. It merely shows that you are the tool. If you want to support bin Laden and try to blame the SEAL's or President Obama for doing the right thing, then perhaps the wrong people died on those planes, or in those markets and police stations. Perhaps you should have in those seats, or better yet, your closest loved one, because maybe then, you will respect the mission that carried out, and join in the celebration that someone so evil was removed from this earth. Justice!

Folks need to check their partisanship at the door with respect to this operation. This is absolutely a positive for this country. We should be proud our military finally got him.

Some people still can not seem to get it through their dense heads that OBL had multiple weapons a few feet away when he was confronted face-to-face with the SEALs. Obviously, he was not "unarmed" period. He had a split second to surrender and chose not to but instead eased toward his weapons. He was legally and justifiably killed and no law, court or any other possible entity of jurisdiction is ever going to change that. He's fish bait, it's over and good riddance. Can't wait for the SEALs to terminate many more of these al Qaeda cockroaches.

considering Richard Marcinko was the founder of ST6 in the eighties, and since he has not been on the telly explaining things, i kind of wonder if he was there

You people who sit behind your computer enjoying your safety and security and never having serving a day in your life, but feel you have the right to judge, make me sick. You enjoy your protection and then question the manner in which you are provided it. Why don't YOU serve your country and put your life on the line. Until you do, SHUT UP. Thank you Seal Team Six, ALL Navy Seals, and all USA Military. We support you and are damn proud.

The SEAL did as ordered. There shouldn't be much of a question about their actions. I would hope that everyone could be satisfied about their results; they cut off one head of the hydra. This isn't a snake; this is the hydra, a multi-head beast that needs to die. That won't happen until the Muslim and Arab worlds understand what they need to do keep up with the rest of the world.

They shot an unarmed man–by all accounts...anywhere else that would be murder. As for our "freedoms"–this country has stood by and allowed your FREEDOM to be stripped from you in the name of national security–and CHANGE is about ALL you have left.

    congrats on that.

I figured John Kerry would be trying to have the SEALS prosecuted. We will never forget how you betrayed our troops in Vietnam. How this guy gets elected is beyond me.

Yolanda you are an idiot. You are going to sit there and preach how Osama was unarmed, like you were there.
