Carney: Obama will have 'specific new ideas' in Middle East speech

(CNN) - President Barack Obama will have "specific new ideas" about U.S. policy for the Middle East in his highly anticipated speech about the region this week, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday.

"I can say safely the president will make news Thursday when he gives his speech," Carney told reporters.

He declined to provide further details, but officials including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have said new sanctions against Syria are under consideration.

This president has kept more balls in the air and tried to accomplish more in 2 years than George W. Bush did in 8. All the while swimming upstream against the party of no. No help, no plan, no answers, no to anything productive. "Politics over People", that's their motto.

When Obama begins cooking up "new ideas" for his Muslim buddies, we should all get very worried. And that is starting from a position of being terrified at what he has already done!

Is this the speech where he throws Israel under the bus and cuts off aid? He is the most anti-Israel President this country has ever had.

Our President is a magnificent leader. Conservatives offer no ideas – just hatred. I plan to strongly support President Obama in 2012. Our country can't survive the Republican greed.

New ideas are hard to come by on this front. The only thing that I can think of that has never been given serious consideration is the good old classic "demilitarized zone", which would never fly because they disputed areas are too urban. Jointly governing some areas, while holding exclusive rule over others would be new today, but has been categorically dismissed by both sides in the past.

Well, that is all well and good, but I have to say the quote that describes these Arabs - the never miss an oppertunity to miss an oppertunity. I don't remember who said it, but it seems to be the truth more often than not.
