Palin movie coming to theaters this summer

Washington (CNN) - A secretly-produced, $1 million feature film about Sarah Palin will debut next month in Iowa, a reminder that the former Alaska governor remains a very real factor in the Republican presidential nominating contest despite dismissals of her potential candidacy by GOP insiders.

The two-hour movie - the existence of which was first reported late Tuesday by RealClearPolitics and confirmed by CNN - is the work of conservative filmmaker Stephen Bannon.

Bannon was first approached by Palin and her staff after last November's midterm elections and asked to produce a series of videos that would highlight the former governor's record in Alaska, an attempt to recover her "maverick" brand and repair the political fallout from her decision to quit the governorship in 2009.

The filmmaker took the idea a step further. With editorial control and his own financing, Bannon produced a feature-length film taking a favorable look at Palin's rise to power in Alaska, her reform efforts as governor and her blockbuster entrance onto the national political stage as John McCain's running mate in 2008.

Quietly and with the help of Palin and her team, Bannon was granted access to key Palin allies in Alaska and a treasure trove of rarely seen footage, including images dating back to Palin's time on the Wasilla City Council, her first political office.

Palin and her husband Todd were given a private screening of the film last week in Arizona, CNN confirmed. The movie's title: "The Undefeated."

Palin has been relatively quiet as of late aside from a handful of Fox News appearances, but word of the film is sure to be a wake-up call to Republican operatives in Washington and in key early primary states who have largely brushed aside the possibility of a Palin presidential bid.

She is, her supporters argue, the only potential candidate with the kind of political muscle needed to skip some of the early nominating hurdles like network debates or the closely-watched Ames Straw Poll, and still join the presidential primary race in September or October with a credible and devoted grassroots following.

A Palin adviser re-affirmed to CNN Tuesday that she is still "seriously considering" a White House bid.

With the film's rollout certain to grab media attention, Republican candidates already in the race are likely to face questions about Palin as they ramp up their campaigns this summer.

Bannon told RealClearPolitics he plans to premier the film in late June in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa, followed by a promotional swing through the other pivotal states of New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.

John Edwards and Sarah Palin thought they could get away with living an extravagant lifestyle based on campaign donations. They thought they were part of the Beautiful People and were allowed to use campaign funds any way they wanted to.....Maybe they will both be sent to the same jails .

I certainly wouldn't pay to see this film, so I'll wait for it on booleg. But I'll tell you what I would pay for – watching an issues debate between Obama and Palin. Can you imagine? Of course, Obama is the consummate gentleman, but he'd tear her apart like a brown bear hooking and devouring salmon. And the good news is that if she should somehow manage to get that nomination, we'll get to witness the spectacle for FREE! Go Sarah! We love you for you entertainment value but not much else...sorry.

The Uglies Are Out Again . . . What accomplishment?

Being a pretty face that got elected to public office in one of the most hard-up states in the country?
Quitting her job mid-term, because she missed the limelight?
Smirking when people at her rallies yelled "Kill him!" in regard to then-candidate Barack Obama?
    Lying about "death panels"?
Taking a housing allowance from the State of Alaska when she was living in her own home?
Using her children as political props?
Using her religion as an excuse for all her bad behavior?

Calling her out on her hypocrisy is a no-brainer ... kinda like Palin herself ...

    Palin = Quitter, Liar, Mooch

"If she enters the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, she will win the nomination and with a smart choice of a Vice President, she could very well defeat Obama in 2012"

Is that you, Mr. Camping? You and your silly predictions...

I personally can't wait for Game Change to come out on tv. Julianna Moore is playing Palin. Can't wait for the scene in the limo where they are taking her to an interview where she throws a hissy fit because she doesn't like her hair or make-up and tears her hair apart and tries to rub off all her make up. Here's this limo going down the street with her aides trying to repair the damage. Now there is an emotionally stable person. Yikes – put that finger on the button and who knows what could happen. She might bomb NY if someone there upset her.

We need someone like Palin - courageous and smart. She understands what's really going on in the world. Not sure what all the hatred is about - there are many, many Americans who she relates to.

The mainstream liberal media is going to be shocked in 2012 when their favorite candidate is going to LOSE.

    The Defeated: 2008 Election results: Obama/Biden 365 McCain/PALIN 173.

Not just defeated - an absolute beatdown.
Of course if Silly Sarah runs again, defeat #2 might be even bigger. GOP can't even tell the truth for a movie title tsk tsk tsk

Sarah Palin cannot win, she would never get the nomination. The small percentage of the Tea Party votes that she might possibly get wouldn't be enough to win tne nominination let alone the election.

There are only two women in the world who are qualified to play Sarah in a movie: Tina Fey and Lisa Ann. Unless either of these two beautiful and talented women get the lead role, I'm not watching it.

GSMITH: "Blind Allegiance was a book written by a scumbag."

Sometimes the truth has a nasty sting, doesn't it? Look, we've all known for years that Palin can't stand the heat, yet she refuses to get out of the kitchen. Why? Because Sarah Palin's favorite person is...Sarah Palin. You know as well as we do, GSMITH, that she doesn't give a rat's a** about you, me, or the majority of Americans.

When is she going to realize that "real SMART, INTELLIGENT Americans" WILL NOT VOTE FOR HER! When is the Secret Service or FBI going to swoop down & make her go away?!?!?

So this movie is all about creating enough buzz among her base so she can skip some primaries and the Ames Straw Poll?

In other words, avoid having to answer unscripted questions and defend her record?

What kind of political hack does that?

And what kind of fool would vote for someone to lead the most powerful nation on earth (you remember, the "exceptional" one) based on this kind of smoke and mirrors trickery?

    Oh, I remember: Palin fans...

Our party would be foolish to let this woman suck up any more of the oxygen in the room,

She can not win and only forces us to be more radical, more extreme in the primary season. This hurts the eventual nominee because when they move back to the center, the moderates and independent voters won`t believe it. By virtue of her involvement, she destroys our credibility.

Doesn`t anyone in the party [besides Barabar Bush] have the guts to put Sarah in her place? Oh, God please help.

Confirmation that the only thing that can keep this woman media-silent for any length of time is a bed of money in which to wallow. Now she'll come out Obama this-ing and Obama that-ing to stump for her movie. I've just gotta see how many people actually reach into their pockets to drop cash in the offering plate on this one. This isn't some book delivered to your doorstep in an Amazon box. You may be able to buy your tickets on-line even, but you will still have to walk into that theater flying the Palin flag. Lol!

If she's so ready to lead the United States, then why can't she handle a couple primaries and the Ames Straw Poll?

This woman is a joke – and people are suckers to continue lining her pockets.

I thought Sarah Palin was going to be in the Dumb and Dumber sequel where she plays both parts (they couldn't get Tina Fey).

I just don't understand the continuing presence of this woman. Seems like it's just media sensationalism, or in this case an individual looking to capitalize on her unfortunate fame. She creates a buzz, because people hate her, so the media run stories about her because it brings people in, to comment or to try and understand why she's still around. That buzz means profits for those media outlets.

$arah Palin is a national embarrassment. She is disgustingly pathetic. I will not see this movie, would never contribute directly to anything that lines her pocketbook.

Bannon is an ex Goldman Sachs employee and he paid the $1million to make this "dog and pony show"... another "bloodsucking tenacle" of Goldman Sachs wrapping around politics. Except with Palin...it comes as no surprise. She would take the "nickels off the dead's eyes" if she thought it would grow her wealth and bring media attention to her family. No bigger media ho has ever been created.

Something tells me we won't see a John Edwards movie. Hollyweird tends to overlook the misdeeds of liberals.
