Special delivery from Romney to Obama
(CNN) - Call it a gift from Mitt Romney to President Barack Obama.
The former Massachusetts governor and 2008 Republican presidential candidate, who next week will formally announce his second bid for the White House, was in the president's hometown of Chicago Thursday.
Among other events, Romney met with small business owners to talk about jobs and the economy. The setting was Gino's East, a famous deep dish pizza joint in a city known for its deep dish pizza.
After the event was over, Romney campaign officials had the leftover pizza slices delivered to Obama's re-election campaign headquarters. In fact, Romney tweeted about his gesture, saying "Great deep dish at @ginoseast. Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team."
A source with the Obama campaign confirmed the pizza was delivered, but no word on whether the slices were actually enjoyed, or thrown out.

Sending cold, leftover pizza? Just the kind of CLASSLESS move I'd expect fro Willard Romney. Wouldn't surprise me if some of it was half eaten.
How rude and tactless.
Doesn't he know that President Obama is at some very important meetings right now at the G8 summit in France? He's meeting with the top world leaders so he won't be having any of this pizza. Probably the workers at the campaign office really enjoyed the pizza though, laughing as they ate it knowing it was on Romney's bill. This was kind of a childish gesture.
Please who throws out free pizza? I would take free pizza from Hilter lol.

This is not the good natured, juvenile prank that it was hoped for. This smacks of blatant racism.
I am not sure what the point of the pizza delivery was, but Obama can reciprocate by sending Romney a presidential inauguration ticket.

Typical Romney – All he seems to be good at is running his mouth. Scratch that. He's also good at pulling immature stunts like this because he has nothing else to run on.
Depending on how much was left, I imagine the soup kitchens would have really appreciated getting those pizzas.

Governer Romney, you have just cast a fatal blow to your campaign. I believe this prank is not a demonstrative act of blatant racism. I meant to call it latent racism. This jesture is well known to have racial overtones. Remember in the movie Hoodlum when Tim Roth's character Dutch Schultz offered his lunch scraps to Clearence William III's character Bud Hewlitt...no doubt this is offensive.
Well, as a Chicagoan, if the campaign staff are so ungrateful for having leftover pizza from Gino's East then send it over to me because I would not think twice of who it came from because it's so good.

Oh, I dunno about all that. It certainly can be interpreted to have those overtones, but I think it's probably more fair to assume that Romney and his clown cadre were ignorantly oblivious to it rather than that they specifically intended it.
This is NOT surprising coming from Mitt Romney and his GOP thugs...this is what they will be dishing out to Americans once they are elected into high office; sending Americans leftovers or asking the middle class to eat the crumbs from the "masser" table!
