Palin meets with Fox News officials

New York (CNN) - Sarah Palin met with officials at Fox News in midtown Manhattan for over an hour on Wednesday.

After checking out of her Jersey City hotel earlier in the day for the fourth day of her "One Nation" bus tour, Palin told a gaggle of reporters that she was en route to Boston, but added: "I'm going to go talk to my bosses at Fox first, here, though. If we can make our way through the city in a big old bus."

Palin's bus was later parked outside Fox's New York headquarters for about 90 minutes around lunchtime.

It was not clear with whom Palin met, but the visit comes on the heels of a New York Magazine report that Fox News chairman Roger Ailes believes Palin is "an idiot." Fox denied that account.

The meeting also comes amid speculation about the limits of Palin's Fox contract, which reportedly guarantees her $1 million a year through 2012.

Palin continues to say that she is seriously considering a presidential bid while also appearing on air as a paid contributor. But that hasn't stopped her from speaking with reporters from different media outlets, including CNN, throughout her bus tour of historical sites along the East Coast.

Several of Palin's moves in recent days –the bus tour, a new home purchase in Arizona, and the re-hiring of key staffers– have fueled speculation that she is laying the groundwork for a campaign.

But former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, both onetime Fox contributors, were suspended and later released as it became clear they were preparing to seek the Republican presidential nomination.

CNN's Adam Reiss contributed to this report.

If it is true that she encouraged Trump to get back in the race, she has just proven that she is a celebrity, seeking support from another celebrity and nothing more. Her approval ratings with the independents is dismal, and she just helped those dismal ratings to increase. Palin is in it for the money, the celebrity, and is using the 2012 Presidential election race for nothing more than a personal debit card. Hey, she's making lots and lots of money. Why wouldn't she milk the stunt for all it's worth. After 2012 you will never see Palin's name again. She's getting those dollars while she can.

Already bought and no national office yet. By the way, no one with any sense is "afraid" of Palin, they just realize what an empty vessel she is. She will only run if it increases her income.

  7. Palin Power

Behold our next and greatest President. Fox News will ensure that Palin becomes President and there is nothing we can do to stop it. It is completely inevitable. We will have 8 years of President Palin. Palin controls Fox News and is the real puppetmaster. Fox would not dare release her off her contract.

I thought I was the only one who noticed Piper Palin always jumping in front of a camera. She really needs to be somewhere in summer school catching up on the 3+ years she has missed learning to read and write. What a waste!!!

She probably discussed the end of her contract. She may have a contract until 2012, but that doesn't stop her from ending it herself so she can announce her intention to seek the office of POTUS. My guess it will end sometime within the next month.

Never fear, the grizzly grifter is NOT running, she is not giving up that 1 million a year.

So, the boss thinks she is an "idiot" he just joined the 75% of Americans that know she is an idiot, but, idiots have a place at Fox, in fact, it appears to be part of the job description.
