Breaking: John Edwards indicted
(CNN) - Former senator and 2008 presidential candidate John Edwards has been indicted, CNN has learned.
A grand jury has been investigating the allegation that money given to support Edwards' mistress, Rielle Hunter, by benefactors of Edwards should have been considered campaign donations - a contention Edwards' team has disputed.

I made my first political donation to John Edwards presidential campaign. I want my fifty bucks back.
what is next is "Exoneration". ????????????????????????????????????? I pity.....you can exonerate thieves, robbers, decoit, but not politicians....o.k

This is SO SAD i feel so sorry for him.
When are people going to stop buying into all of these politicians "family values" campaigns and start asking them what useful things they will do for us in office. The Sarah Palins of the world run around and shout these ridiculous, generic comments about America and morals but never actually say anything of substance. And guys like John Edwards are the worst of the bunch...selling us his wholesome image while using peoples money to cover up his problems.
I'm getting embarrassed to be an American at this point.

How do people feel sorry for him. His a disgusting human being – cheating on a wife who is dying with cancer, running for what is the most prestigious office in the world and knowing he will disgrace it. We are perpetuating behavior by feeling sorry for this guy. pure, pure, human dirt. BTW, I WAS a huge supporter....

This Edwards episode is probably one of the reasons why Barbour's and Daniel's spouses do not want them running for the Presidency. Dirty laundry of this type has a way of quickly coming to the surface and I'm sure these ladies could do without the accompanying embarrassment especially Daniels wife who left him and his kids.....only to come back.
So if Edwards was indicted, then why wasn't Ensign?
Edwards was an ambulance chaser long before he ever ran for office. He lost my vote then. Everything that's happened since hasn't been all that surprising. I've got mixed feelings on Obama. Helluva lot better than Dubbya, but not as good as he could / should be. He's strange politically. Sometimes he runs headlong towards socialism, others he might as well be a liberal (pre-Bush) republican.

You all are so happy cause Edwards is being prosecuted for misusing a little money. Bush, Cheney, and Obama are guilty of mass murder of American Soldiers, yet they are free to continue getting people killed. That's american values for ya. Bet you all voted for the terrorist in the white house too.

I fail to see the parallel. Edwards accepted over $900,000 for his campaign and failed to report it. Then he used those funds for personal use. If true, that's clearly a felony and has nothing to do with the GOP. It's all on Edwards.
