Palin’s threat for those who disagree

(CNN) - Fresh off the first leg of her “One Nation” bus tour, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she did not mean to distract from Mitt Romney’s presidential announcement by visiting New Hampshire on the same day, adding that she reserves ill intent for those with whom she disagrees.

“I do apologize if I stepped on any of that PR that Mitt Romney needed or wanted that day. I do sincerely apologize. We didn’t mean to step on anybody’s toes,” Palin said on “Fox News Sunday.” “I’ll step on the toes of those who are making poor decisions for our nation … I don’t have a problem stepping on toes of those … who keep screwing up.”

The potential 2012 presidential candidate said her five-day tour was not about her – despite its appearance as a publicity tour – and instead showed her the desire Americans have to get back to the country’s foundational principles and away from the positions held by President Barack Obama.

She compared his economic policies to the Titanic, a ship she said will soon be “drowning in debt and in additional economic problems.”

“It’s very noble of President Obama to want to stay at the helm and maybe go down with this sinking ship, but I prefer and many Americans prefer that we start plugging the hole,” Palin said. “We don't have to go the way of the Titanic.”

To reverse America’s economic course, a President Palin would cut the federal budget, cut taxes and regulations to incentivize businesses, and institute an “all of the above energy policy,” including “drill baby drill,” her oft-used slogan.

She reiterated her charge that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is crying wolf by saying the U.S. Congress must increase the debt ceiling by August 2nd. And although she expects Congress will raise the limit, a vote with which she disagrees, Palin said members of Congress “better get something out of it,” whether it be a balanced budget, cuts in federal spending or a reassessment of American-led wars.

“Three wars that we’re engaged in today and our country nearing bankruptcy. We have to rethink everything that we’re doing with foreign aid and with foreign intervention,” Palin said. “We have got to make sure it’s America’s interests first being met in each of these nations.”

The former 2008 vice presidential also addressed some controversies that arose this past week. After she botched details of Paul Revere’s midnight ride while speaking in Boston, Palin correctly recounted the story Sunday and characterized the encounter as a “shout-out gotcha type of question that was asked of me.”

“I answered candidly and I know my American history,” Palin said.

When asked about the more than 24,000 pages of records, including emails, that are set to be released by the Alaska governor’s office, Palin said the emails were not meant for public consumption and that people will “capitalize on this opportunity” and take the messages out of context.

“I don’t think there’s anything private in our family,” Palin said. “Nothing surprises me any more.”

She's quite the hypocrite complaining about wars and foreign aid considering her want for an armed conflict with Iran and the continued unquestioning aid to Israel.

Hell, I could even run against this bozo and win!! It doesn't take much brain power to defeat this one. I just wish the media would just ignore her and let her fade away, and get to someone who is a serious contender for the presidency. She is just a waste of everyone's time and internet bandwidth.

@Palin – "April 18, 1775 Dr. Joseph Warren instructed Revere to ride to Lexington, Mass to warn Samuel Adams and
John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them". – The Paul Revere House Websit. Sarah, darlin',

They are all "Gotcha" questions to Sarah....maybe we should just stick to asking her questions like "What is your name?" She is a media queen, she is smart when it comes to knowing how to manipulate the system to make money. Her family are pawns in the game. She won't run for office, too much work. Please run Sarah! We democrats could take all the money to fund the presidential campaign and pour it into the congressional campaigns! No way the American electorate could possible be stupid enough to elect this woman to office again.

My what a big mouth you have sarah. And the insight of a fruit fly. For a woman as blockheaded and inexperienced in elected office as she, and having make as many stupid mistakes on even the most basic expressions of intelligence – she's got alot of nerve gassing about stepping on the toes of people who are trying to deal with hige, complex issue of national policy.
May this be license to her opponents to stomp right back when this pinhead is bumping around on their toes.

How stupid does this idiot think the rest of us that are not brainwashed by FOX propaganda channel are?

She is so far out of it and far gone to even think before she opens her mouth. What a joke and a disgrace to a national party.
Every time she opens her mouth for the world to hear, we Americans becomes the butt of the World's joke.

How in the world can someone be this dumb, brainless, no freaking clue and still get any media attention.

You really have to operate with some serious screw loose from your brain to even put any fraction of thought to this woman, i am a woman, much more educated than this boozo Sarah Palin and if she is the last standing Republican, she will not get my vote.
What a national embarasment she has become.

@Root and Stem, Why on earth would he intentionally destroy this country??? He is actually trying to make things better for everyone, even for the ones who don't like him but you know when the other side always says no to everything he wants to do then it is hard to get things done, isn't it??? You really should stop listening to republicans because they know absolutely nothing!!!

No one needs to worry about the "threat" of Palin stepping on their toes since she usually has both of her feet firmly planted in her mouth.

Our national embarrassment, on the stage again. Hard to imagine what people in other countries think of us, with this fool prancing around the country with her empty-headed sarcasm and meaningless innuendo. Add to that bag of codswallop the lunatic from our state, Michelle Bachmann and you have a one-two punch of idiocy that I'm certain makes people from around the world feel like we've all taken crazy pills.

You know, I think we should privatize everything. That way people would really see what a world that they think is 'Marxist' is really not. Think about paying a toll to leave your neighborhood. Because it is somebody's road, you can't just ride on it for free. Or how about everybody pays the private school prices for their kids? Even better, you pay even MORE for health care? Hey, it is a business after all, they have to make their money!

As for 'I make up history as I go along" Sarah...she still hasn't learned her lesson from 2008.

Palin wears her willful ignorance and anti-intellectualism, illiteracy as a badge of honor. Where are Palin's FOX handlers when she starts babbling stupidity?

I think the four colleges Palin went to before getting her bachelor’s degree should refund her tuition considering the out come of her insufficient knowledge of even the remedial basics.

Please run Sarah... PLEASE. The Republicans will suffer their worst defeat in history with Palin at the top of their 2012 ticket. From president down to dog catcher.

Just imagine being one of her handlers! After she answered the "gotcha" question about Paul Revere they had to endure countless hours of teaching her about the America she professes to love so much.

It is not her fault, really. She has been prepared all her life to be a beauty queen but when she failed at that (and realized the pay sucked) she had to move onto something more lucrative like being a politician. After all, a politician can take public money, buy all the clothes they want and keep the change, so to speak, after a failed run for office.

I think she should run, it will be a blast to watch! I need some comic relief.

By Golly what a real go-getter like Paul Revere was when he took off in the north to warn the British about bells, and well Russia you know is because of course you can't just get a newspaper and have it say all the things that are important like our guns for families who might you know need to have an operation except that the Democrats are ruining our great America because the bus tour is just to show you how much importance a family is when farms are being flooded in Seattle while the Democrats are too stupid to know how important a family is...

Republicans are an interesting breed. They steer the ship into the iceberg full speed. Then they resist every effort by the guy who is fixing the gaping hole in the ship. They they complain that he isn't fixing it fast enough and that they should be elected captain again. Now that's interesting.

It's unbelievable that so many of her statements go unchallenged. Does Half Gov. Palin even understand that raising the debt limit has nothing at all to do with future spending? We need to raise the debt limit to continue to pay for what we have already borrowed, like paying for the unfunded wars, the Bush tax cuts, yes we have to borrow money to pay for the Bush tax cuts, Does that make any sense. To make things worse, Half Gov. Palin wants to cut taxes even more which translates into having to borrow even more money! She is completely clueless.
