Obama deciding on size of initial Afghanistan troop withdrawal

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama will hold a video conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday, but has yet to reach a decision on the size and scope of the U.S. troop withdrawal that will begin next month, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday.

Carney told reporters that the troop withdrawal will begin in July, as planned. What remains undecided are the number and kinds of U.S. force members coming home, he said.

I say say no less than 120,000. That should just about do it. Lets bring our brave Men and Women home and take care of them for a change. Lets thank the President with the New GI bill. Lets make sure they do fill in the Veterans preference.

    Keep our troops home!!!

Defense Secretary Robert Gates, on his final visit to Afghanistan before stepping down at the end of June, said over the weekend that he believes as many combat forces as possible should remain in Afghanistan for as long as possible.

Robert Gates has shown himself to be one of the most reasonable men in Washington. He says what he honestly believes, even when it meant large budget cut with respect to military programs. I hope his advice is given serious consideration. He obviously knows what he is talking about and has no reason to lean one way or the other.

BOTTOM LINE IS – – – PRESIDENT OBAMA IS KEEPING HIS WORD.

(1.) – President Obama stated that if given the opportunity to get Bin Laden, he would do so, with or without Pakistan's help.

(2.) – President Obama said he would begin pulling U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by July 2011, whether or not Afghanistan is ready for U.S. troop departure.

Thank you President Obama for cleaning up the Bush/Cheney debacle; even though the hypocritical Republican Tea Party refuse to acknowledge your successes.
