Key Democrat calls for Weiner to quit

Washington (CNN) - Sen. Patrick Leahy added his voice Thursday to calls for embattled Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign from his seat in the House.

Leahy is the most senior Democrat to date to call for Weiner's resignation. The Vermont Senator ranks second in seniority in the Senate. He joins a growing list of Democrats who have called for their colleague to step down over his involvement in a "sexting" scandal.

At least some Democrats are calling for his resignation. Where were the Republicans when talking about Larry Craig, David Vitter, or John Ensign? Sure Craig and Ensign are out now but not from Republican doing. Vitter is still there for all to see as a perfect example of the rights hypocrisy.

Democrats are calling for his resignation strictly based on the election in 2012.

Nothing more. They have nothing more.

7.2 and above and Obama's GONE.

    Dude, it`s game over

We are NOT Republicans. We live by a different, Higher, Better standard than they do.

Yes, Vitter should reitre and Ensign should have done so 2 years ago but that`s not our problem. It`s the GOP`s.

President Obama is our moral standard bearer – loving husband with a devoted wife ant two well adjuated beautiful daughters. Because of him, our party holds the high moral ground.

You are trying to muck that up to save your own, sorry, technologically ignorant behind. Sorry, we can`t afford that.

Want to redeem yourself a little bit? Call a press conference to resign and challenge Vitter [and all those unknown GOP rats that you KNOW about] to join you.

You are going out. At least do it on your terms!

Exactly. Guess who will be called upon next to resign? Not a Democrat.

How about this..... Weiner stays and the Democrats resign because Weiner has enough backbone then all of them combined.

Where was the outrage to resign when David Vitter got caught actually cheating?!? Democrats are a bunch of cowards. Got a lot of mouth when its one of your own but you are on your knees with your mouth open when its a Republican. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU. Besides it's not your decision anyway. It's the decision of the people he serves. From what I see he works hard for the people. They will lose a good thing if they let him go.
