DNC fundraising boosted by Obama's re-election

(CNN) - The Democratic National Committee raised $10.5 million in May, out-raising the Republican National Committee's $6.2 million haul, according to the DNC.

The DNC now has $16.5 million cash on hand and a debt of $13.5 million, less than the RNC's $18.5 million.

However, over half or $6.5 million of the money raised by the DNC in May was a transfer from the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account with the committee. The campaign receives the first $5,000 of an individual contribution, the maximum an individual is allowed to contribute to the campaign. Individuals are permitted to give $30,800 to a campaign committee per year.

Truth be told: I don't mind contributing to the President's warchest. He's worked hard for it and earned my contribution. The fact that the DNC gets a 'cut' from my contribution irks the living hell out of me, bunch of sissified pushovers.

If you think that is a lot of money, most folks cannot really imagine how much a billion dollars is. For most of us, it is just a word that means how many zeroes follow the number one. Let me put it into perspective for you. Just how much is a billion dollars.

Imagine a taxi cab that cost one dollar per foot. Pretty expensive cab. With roughly a billion dollars you could pay for a ride from the earth to the moon. That's over 230,000 miles, which is just under 10 laps around the equator of the earth.

Now imagine taking that ride to the moon and back 500 times. Now you are at one trillion dollars. Our national debt is almost 15 times that amount. Need more. Our debt is so high that it could pay for a ride in that same taxi at the speed of light for over two and one half years. Yiou can close your mouth now.

If only the Dem's in Congress were as popular as Obama and stood united behind him. Instead they seem to be stuck in their old bad habits serving their Big $ lobbyist masters, just like the Republicans. Evan Bayh, Nelson, Landrieu, Lincoln and friends are the worst of the worst in the party and are a bunch of turn-coat sell-outs.

So people who donated directly to Obama unknowingly doated to the DNC instead ? Sounds a little bit fishy if you ask me.

This time around, we may just have the lesser of 2 evils........neither of which anyone wants to vote for.
