Nation's mayors pass resolution to 'bring U.S. war dollars home'

Baltimore (CNN) - Acknowledging it is out of the ordinary for city mayors to take a stand on American military policy, the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a resolution Monday calling for an early end to the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"This is not a war resolution," said the newly elected president of the group, Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Don't let *you know who* hear you say that. Because *you know who* will start calling for tax cuts all over again.

How many of you remember how George W. Bush was viewed as a leader in 2001? I do.

Early in his administration the most even handed analysts said the he lacked direction and vision for the country. They were saying he needed to take leadership advice from people like General Powell. Even Republican skeptics said he had no strategic intent.

I believe that Bush latched on to the 9-11 and Anthrax attacks in 2001 to justify taking us to war with the sole intent of distracting us from his lack of a plan and vision for the country.

These wars have ADDED TRILLION$ to the National Debt. I believe it was weakness in President 43's character and confidence in himself that led us to war in Afghanistan and Iraq. If we were going to borrow money from China for something, it shouldn't have been to bolster GWB.

So now these city mayors feel comfortable sticking their noses into federal territory because they want money from the feds??? Maybe they should start to help enforce the immigration laws in this country and SAVE BILLIONS they waste on illegals? Will the Justice Dept. sue these fools like they did Arizona to teach them a lesson? How many are "sanctuary cities"? Better yet, GET YOU OWN FINANCIAL HOUSE IN ORDER AND STOP MOOCHING MONEY FROM OTHERS.

So very amusing. It's CA and the dude has a spanish name and the picture if you click "Full Story" shows a very diverse group of people standing around a podium with him, so what do we get from the imbecile Teatrollers who come here? "Blah blah he wants to spend the money on illegals!!!!" Get a life you fools. In case you hadn't checked, your opportunist GOP candidates for POTUS have already switched their positions on Iraq and Afghanistan to align with what Villaraigosa is proposing...get the troops out and save the money for domestic issues...because the polls show that's the majority of Americans' positions. Your nonsense about illegals is entirely irrelevant and broadcasts your inability to look at a person of latin decent without thinking they're hear illegally or somehow trying to favor them. Pull up your flies...your bigotry is showing.

If the mayors really want to help this country. They need to stop asking the government for handout.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD BALANCE THE BUDGET. NOT GIVE THE MONEY FOR WELFARE
PROGRAMS IN THE CITIES. TIME FOR THE PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT GOING TO
SUPPORT YOU. GET OFF YOUR BACKSIDES AND GET A JOB.

    GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY
