Washington (CNN) - In the battle for control of the House of Representatives, the National Republican Congressional Committee has twice as much money in the bank as its Democratic counterpart.
The NRCC revealed late Monday that the party committee has $10.6 million cash on hand as of June 1, double the $5.3 million the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reported having in the bank as of the end of last month.
The NRCC reported raising $4.6 million in May and a debt of $7 million. The DCCC brought in $3.8 million last month, with a debt of $6.6 million. The NRCC points out that they have raised $26.8 million so far this year, nearly double what they raised in the first half of 2009.
The GOP took back control of the House thanks to a net gain of 63 seats in November's midterm elections. As of now, the Democrats need to win back 24 seats next year to regain control of the chamber.

REPUBLICANS RULE!!!! No more Democrats, they screw things up.
If the Republicans truly understood the American people, they would not be bragging about how much money they have raised compared to Democrats. It only highlights who and what the Republican's are and where their priorities really lie.
The Dems pulled in more money than repubs by 5million on most other websites.
I guess all the unemployed Democrats that got snookered by the "Hope & Change" mantra of 2008 have run out of cash. I guess they'd better hope the Democrats get the boot in the Senate and Whitehouse if they ever want to work again.
No doubt money from big business and corporations now that the scotus has legalized bribery. Not surprised in the least bit.
This is very disappointing when you consider that the House, under GOP leadership, has accompolished very little.

In the whooping 5 months they'be been there! They've been pretty busy trying to clean up the financial mess/disaster left to them by the Democrats. No budget, an exhausted credit limit, massive deficits, massive debt, an economy in the tank, and a Senate and Whitehouse controlled by clueless Democrats that want to keep driving the country over the cliff and into the financial abyss. But don't worry, 2012 is right around the corner. The American people will finish the job they started in 2010. Only THEN can the real recovery begin.
Facism will come to america wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross, lead by the GOP and their corporate masters.
