Bachmann, a congresswoman from Minnesota, told the story in the course of answering a question about her position on abortion.

(CNN)–Republican congressional leaders Wednesday rejected President Barack Obama's call to include tax revenues as part of a deal to raise the debt ceiling.
Obama said at a White House press conference Wednesday that he's already made concessions to significantly cut spending for government programs. In return, he said, Republicans should now accept proposals to end corporate tax subsidies, such as those given to oil and gas companies or tax breaks for hedge fund managers.

Washington (CNN) - Thirteen Democratic senators released a YouTube video Wednesday as part of the "It Gets Better" campaign, intended to offer hope to young lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender teens across the country.
The nearly five minute, highly produced, black and white video features the 13 senators who are all co-sponsors of a bill that would repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act. The video is part of a larger project aimed at LGBT youth who may be having a difficult time in school. The simple message is life does get better.

(CNN) - "When they won't see the light," goes the old saying, "make 'em feel the heat." That was the strategy President Obama employed today in his press conference as he skewered Republicans over deficit negotiations. But where will it lead?
The president likely scored political points with two arguments. First, he skillfully made the case that in refusing to end tax breaks for oil companies, millionaires, and CEOs on corporate jets, Republicans are taking money away from hard-pressed Americans who need help. Who would want to do that?

"I would hope that the state would move in that direction" Emanuel said. "Tremendous progress has been made across the country on a value statement and I think that's very important."

The third day of Bachmann's presidential rollout, which began on Monday in Iowa, has been her busiest so far, with rallies planned in four of South Carolina's biggest media markets.
And that's with temperatures hovering above the 90-degree mark.

(CNN)– The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) is reminding its leaders to stay away from endorsing political candidates or offering political statements.
In a letter dated June 16. LDS President Thomas S. Monson provided LDS members with "further clarification of the church's position on political neutrality."
