Santorum to launch jobs tour of Iowa

(CNN)-Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum will spend some time in the Hawkeye state in July when he takes his presidential campaign on a 10-city tour of Iowa.

Billed as the "Courage to Fight for American Jobs" tour, Santorum, who is seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president, will tout his plan to bring manufacturing back to America and discuss "revitalizing our industrial and high-tech sectors" with local businesses from July 5-7, according to a written statement released Thursday.

The self-described "social conservative" will work to drum up support for his candidacy, which has received single-digit backing in recent polls. He is one of the most-traveled candidates when it comes to Iowa, making at least 15 trips to the first-in-the-nation caucus state since December 2010.

A good showing at any of the early primary contests in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina would provide a needed boost to Santorum's campaign.

He plans to visit Marion, Cedar Rapids, Fort Dodge, and Sioux City, among other stops on the Iowa campaign trail as part of the tour.

What a loser. He's not even in the top 3 of frontrunners.

First, as far as "revitalizing our industrial and high-tech sectors," Obama beat Santorum to it. Second, Santorum's plan, so far, is to just complain...about Obama.

Courage to fight for American jobs tour my foot. If he had any courage he would be standing up for the poor and middle class in this country by demading that Republicans quit protecting all their rich freinds and their corporate buddies. Their so called tax breaks to create jobs have done nothing to create jobs here in the United States. Maybe in China, but not here. The sad part is that the good ole religious right bible thumpers keep voting for them no matter how badly they get beat up by their polices.

I will give Santorum an "A" for effort. But, why so much time in Iowa and not his own home state? "Drum up" support means beating the war drums against Obama.

Senator, the people have heard Republican war drums for a decade. They are tired of it. They wish to hear about how you plan to make up for the decade long decline in manufacturing jobs under Bush. We went from over 17 million in 2000 to under 10 million by 2010.

if this guy REALLY wanted to fight for American jobs, he should have been in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio when his GOP brethren were busy cutting and trying to destroy labor unions. Ricky is not even on the radar screen in this race polling below Palin and Perry who aren't even running yet. He should save his money and leave.

LOL! Santorum's 'Run' for President is pure ego. First off, he is despised here in PA (His former State). Plus, nobody likes him. Second, many people say, Who is Rick Santorum?'. He doesn't have chance.

Yet another bible-thumping, right-wing, homophobic, conservative with nothing to offer but a long career as a professional politician. His strong support for military action is curiously offset by his total lack of military experience. He is the typical modern Republican.

Go away Ricky. Many voters are not paying attention to you or what you have to say. You lost your re-election bid for senate because nobody wanted you in a position of power because you are a screw up. You have low numbers that your IQ when it comes to leadership and just because you call yourself a *self-described "social conservative* does not mean you are one. You have proven in previous statements that you lack the understanding of the Geo-Politics that every president needs to understand to succeed. Go back to doing what you were doing after getting kicked to the curb by the people in PA and take the *bat boy* Timmy P with you and the motor mouth also and dough boy and the empty suit. Let Joh H have his say and listen to him and you might learn something if you can get your head out of *S*

Uhm, didn't the Rs run on jobs, jobs, jobs in 2010 and then didn't follow through on it when they got into power? Is this another Contract with American thing where they say one thing and do another once they get in?

The "Courage to Fight for American Jobs" tour. Ever notice how modern American political propaganda is starting to sound like old Soviet propaganda? Don't believe me? Add the word "Glorious" right before "American" and see how it rolls off the tongue, Soviet style. I guess propaganda's the same all over.
