Palin: I can win

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said she can win a national election, but has yet to decide if she will take on President Obama in 2012.

"The people of America are desperate for positive change, and deserving of positive change, to get us off this wrong track," Palin said in an interview published in Newsweek Sunday. "I'm not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around. But I do believe I can win."

The former Alaska governor said there needs to be a larger field of candidates in the race for the White House, and she welcomes discussion about her and other undeclared candidates like Govs. Rick Perry of Texas and Chris Christie of New Jersey.

"Thank goodness the field is not yet set. I think that there does need to be more vigorous debate. There needs to be a larger field," Palin said. "There's still months ahead, where more folks can jump in and start articulating their positions."

Palin, who is still considering a bid for president, said she would not run if faced with opposition from her family, who's "gotta be in it with you."

But she won't receive push-back form her eldest daughter, Bristol.

"I think Bristol has made up her mind, and Bristol wants me to run for president," Palin said. "But we're still thinking about it. I'm still thinking about it."

The article comes as "The Undefeated," a favorable film by conservative filmmaker Steve Bannon, is set to release in select cities on July 15 and nationwide the following week.

Palin, who has become a national voice since stepping down as Alaska's governor following the 2008 election, chastised the president over the debt ceiling negotiations. The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the country needs "strong chief executives."

"The office of the presidency is too important for on-the-job training. It requires a strong chief executive who has been entrusted with real authority in the past and has achieved a proven track record of positive measurable accomplishments," Palin wrote on her Facebook page. "Real leadership requires deeds even more than words. It means taking on the problems no one else wants to tackle."

This sounds an awful lot like 3 years ago, with this on the job training stuff. It didn't work then and it won't work now. I really don't know which experience the wasilla imbecilla equates to that of president of the United states – mayor of wasilla, or a half term as governor of alaska.

It's amazing what one crazy person can do, and how much money they can make when they rile up other crazy people around them. Mrs. Palin would be so horrible for this country, it would absolutely be a travesty if she won the Presidency.

There is nothing stopping her now. Every rock has been overturned looking for dirt on her, her family, and her record. Some have said we learned nothing form her emails. So not true. We now know she was a hands on governor. We also know she was selfless in resigning. The frivolous ethics complaints were crippling her office. Costing the state millions, and bankrupting her family. Rather then let those bringing the comlaints win, she handed the reigns over to Sean Parnell. She put Alaska ahead of her own political aspirations. That is what selflessness looks like.

Classic DSM-IV megalomanical narcissist delusions of grandeur, overestimation of self-efficacy and rationalization of failures through projection.

"taking on problems no one else wants to tackle"? Bold words coming from someone who quit her job as governor of Alaska–one of the least populous states in the country. Maybe being able to see Russia scared her.

Folks, she only says this kind of stuff to rile up the left to keep her name in the news. The left wing and Palin haters continue to fall for it. Palin is laughing all the way to the bank.. Jokes on you.

Who is telling her that? Greenspam is right – it's a media event. Tina Fey's act has brought more fame to Palin than she herself could ever generate by political campaigns. We're being duped.

"We now know she was a hands on governor. "

Hands-on using the office to try to find dirt on political rivals in order to destroy them. Read the emails again.

Sarah is a 2016 candidate. The present Repub party will never get over the stigma of being anti-Social Security and Medicare. AND it can't be overcome this go-around. VERY unlikely Obama will stumble at this point in the game. And this is what Sarah is hearing from her closest advisors

"It requires a strong chief executive who has been entrusted with real authority in the past and has achieved a proven track record of positive measurable accomplishments." Well, Sarah Palin has proven that she possesses NONE of these things.
Her "track record" ended when she QUIT rather than face the hard work of real governing. Her only measurable "accomplishment" is how much money she has conned people into spending for a pair of books she didn't write.

I am still perplexed at why people dislike Sarah Palin to the extent that most of these post reveal. Sarah Palin is the first political public figure in a long time who actually speaks truthfully. She doesn't give lip service to anything, she says what she believes without trying to sugar coat her message. I find it refreshing because I like to hear the truth. There aren't any political figuresin Washington who do that. Our system has become a system of double talk and side deals. Nobody says what they mean and nobody cares about the will of the American public. So why all the hatred for someone who is actually saying what she means and believes? Sarah Palin can lead this nation and she can do it by truthfully representing and fighting for the will of the American people through our most sacred founding document, our Consititutioin. I think we don't recognize a good thing because we have been lied to for so long by others.

Excellent points bassman. And Sarah Palin was way ahead of the popularity of fiscal conservatism and responsible governance. This, along with her quick rise on the national political scene to a ticket that captured 40% of the national votes explains why so many liberals have taken to new lows in personal political attacks of her. Here is someone who does not have an Ivy League law degree or a Washington political career spanning decades making this kind of a leap. How dare she? But she is real and she is honest, she has rock solid values and she has a huge base of support.

If she thinks she can win, then run idiot. A good number of Americans are so stupid to believe this idiot would be a good President. Yeh! It is these same idiots who want to get raid to the department of education and defund all the programs that would help make Americans smart and more competitive in the World.

you are a hottie, but winning is not there, we need a business man, not a community organizer or a hottie that runs. America needs JOBS and people in government dont know how to meet a payroll. I could do a better job with my eyes closed. It takes innovation and a spark and what does the community organizer got, only WELFARE and the hotties, palin and bachman only got hot and the rest of them running are JOKES. We need a real person in jeans and a "T" shirt to run this country.

God I hope not. If she does it won't be because I voted for her. I'd vote democrat just to try and keep her out of office before I voted for her and that's saying something.

Narcissistic, egomaniac Sarah is engaged in sheer, pathetic acts of desperation in order to keep herself in the limelight – and every time she opens her mouth and spews forth with that grating, whiney voice; her utter lack of knowledge of American History and Civics is exposed (a polite way of saying the woman is STUPID).

Sarah has pretty much been marginalized and neutralized as a political threat to ANYONE. She will only remain relevant to her narrow cult of low-information, radical right-wing extremist fanatics and will continue to stir up their frenzied emotions.

But mainstream America has pretty much dismissed Sarah as an unqualified, irrelevant NUTCASE!
