Washington (CNNMoney) - In a nod to Big Business, President Obama on Monday issued an executive order asking independent agencies to rid their books of old and outdated regulations.
The White House made a similar request earlier this year to agencies it oversees. The new order asks agencies that don't answer to the White House to join in this call to cut red tape.

This goes to show the LYING that Republican politicians do and which the MEDIA allows them to get away with.
For the past year, EVERY print or TV journalist should have confronted GOP spokespersons with the fact that this Executive Order was in effect ANY TIME that person claimed that President Obama was "anti-business" or was implementing "job killing regulations".
The press does the public a disservice when it lacks the intellect and courage to call out obvious lies or attempts to mislead. If the media wants to KEEP it's vaunted "Freedom of the Press", it better display more utility to our national integrity than Mr. Murdoch's newspapers and television stations.
False commentary from news hosts about how both sides are at fault for bad behavior are wrong & useless. Until the "offsetting penalty flags" stop, the game will not improve.
How about starting with the repeal of Obamacare??? If you REALLY want to get the economy going, THAT would be a big start.
The "old and outdated regulations" are not a problem Mr Empty Suit...........all you need to end are the regulations YOU and your DNC/Liberal Cronies have shackeld businesses with since your regime takeover!
And who said this president was anti-business. Those Wall St. guys are sure happy Daley is the Chief of Staff. Otherwise, Rahm would have told them to go to hell.
Don't forget that GWB deregulated quite a bit, and under-enforced even more. Has anyone noticed how many consumer alerts and industrial accidents we have had over the past decade compared to the Clinton years?
Bravo President Obama. Bravo! This is a step in the right direction.
WOW! What a concept. Long overdue.
