Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

Like her or not, she makes a point. Deal with the situation with reality. Reality is finding a medium between what both parties will agree to in the Congress, Senate, and House. No Tax increase is not reality, No cuts in Government Services is not reality. We don't really need to be supporting the lobbyiests on Capital Hill. Poor, middle class, and Rich paying same percentage on income tax is only fair way. Corporations and small businesses need to be paying their share as well.

How do most of the people in this country believe they are going to make a deal in time, none of them deal in reality.

My God, can't CNN or MSNBC place this woman in the has-been file and let it go? If Sarah Palin gets any news coverage, let it be from her own propaganda wing at Fox News.
America, I'm telling you, you, like me should read the book entitled "Over The Cliff". This book describes the right to a tee. More importantly it gives a clear view of the determined program from the likes of Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, to demean, defeat Barak Obama for a second term. People like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Mike Huckabee, Jim DeMint and Pence, Santorum and several others are sad sad examples of people that have a voice and too many Americans listen to.

It is amazing to me that Sarah Palin feels she is intellectually capable of giving advice/criticism to anyone about anything since it took her 5 years to graduate college (C student) and quite midstream as Alaska's governor (greener pastures $$$$). Can you spell hypocrite, Sarah. However, she is charismatic, as attested by her loyal followers, but so was Reverend Jim Jones, Jonestown, Guyana!!!

Oh, come on! You guys deleted my post on her wearing a helmet on the bus (tour)? How about it I rephrase it? "I don't dislike her, but I wish she'd get out of the way." That's all.

Right on Sara. At least she is expressing an idea of how to proceed. All our president can think of is to threaten old people and scare them to death. We do not need to raise the debt ceiling, we need to step spending. All dems know how to do is spend, spend, spend. If I ran my household budget the way the White House does, my family would be out in the street and I would probably be in jail. From what I have observed, most men are jealous of Sara. They just can't stand the thought of a woman in the White House.

    @ DJ
You watched the interview and she made sense to you. BTW, all those blasting her for resigning, go back and read why she resigned. It would to save her family for financial ruin and save the state for unneeded expense of taking time on all 21 ethics charges that were filed.
What your saying is it's all about money , not about the law.

She needs to shut up. I know we have simple minded people in the country that adore her and hang onto every words she says. However, the media needs to stop reporting on her.

Sarah Palin, with all her vast economic experience and intelligence, telling the leaders of our country how to do the job. And still with her "retreat" and "reload" nonsense. I notice she hasn't made her decision yet whether to run – dither much, Sarah? She just makes me gag.

Any person who makes under $250,000 who votes Republican is a Moron.

Of course, those same morons think Palin is "the best hope for American".

Go Palin 2012. Can you just see Obama telling Palin, "call my bluff", Mitch telling her "we will just put it on your shoulders". I didn't think so. This soon to be first woman president, would leave both them wetting their pants + come up with a plan where America wins.

Isn't there a fallacy in her argument that the President is responsible even though she doesn't want him to have the authority?

come on Sarah, put your hat officially in the ring to be a candidate for prez, rather than doing the stupid cheerleader on the sidelines baloney. get some skin in the game and THEN you can have at. but right now, you have about as much credibility as a gnat as you think you have the answers, but no idea what the questions are. You have criticism but no resolutions. all talk, no credible positions. You need to get in the GOP clown car first tho.

As always, Palin is free to critisize the decisions of others, while not offering any solutions of her own. I think we are all frustrated, some of us at Republicans, some at Obama – in the end – this is a HARD subject and requires adults to solve.
