Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

I'm sorry, I got stuck on "It's time to reload and we're reloading with reality". Exactly WHAT does that mean? Another running of the mouth with absolutely NO solution. Not exactly clear on how President Obama is at fault for the failure to come to an agreement on the debt ceiling. Last I heard the Democrats are on board with lowering the so-called entitlements AS LONG AS the wealthy & corporate segments paid more in taxes. Unfortunately the Republicans feel that this is something that cannot be done – they have taken way too much money from the corporations and the wealthy to do this. If the debt ceiling crashes, the Republicans will be the ones to blame!

As a Canadian dam am I glad she is American or we would have her in a mental institute and our Medical would have to pay for her. Now we do have mouth clamps in our medical supplies if you want to borrow one.

Well, what is abundantly clear is that, as a moron, you cannot construct a grammatically correct sentence. Still.

Why so much hate? You give her too much power and credit by hating her so much. good grief, change the channel, don't read the articles. You had to click a link to get here to spew all this hate. I don't understand it. Unfortunately she is right. Nobody in DC is doing their job right now. Agreeing to raise the debt ceiling and increase taxes for some unspecified cuts later is not a deal I would take either. The administration has identified 2 billion in cuts. While the US mint is making presidential dollar coins at the cost of $.32 each and they are not even being circulated. $600,000 a day to make these coins and now the mint is going to spend $650,000 to build a new vault to hold the 2 billion they have already made. Stop the insanity. There is so much money being wasted on crap like this and they can't agree to cut it?

Go ahead Sarah, stick America's economic finger in the light socket, it won't hurt a bit.

If Palin thinks one person agrees with what she's trying to say she goes hog wild offering her foolish advice. A cheerleader who took nothing but fun stuff at the community colleges she dropped out of. Yeah...that's who we want in a leadership role. When people are laughing at you, your not being included in the fun, you are the fun.

Sarah and her buddies care nothing for America! They are so racist that all they want is to make our first Black President fail- they are too stupid to see how this debt ceiling is crucial to the entire world economy and they are arrogant enough to think they can protect the wealthiest and the biggest oil companies, health insurers and corporate interests while beating up the poor and aged. Americans will stand against them and take back this nation! For the people. Do not vote against your own self interests – Bachmann is a reactionary know nothing and Romney built his fortune by putting American companies in bankruptcy and American workers out of work.

What this country needs is another pleasant sounding politician that can accept deceptive accounting practices like the good old days. It worked beautifully for Reagan and Bush. Let’s not count the costs of those pesky wars and let’s borrow from Social Security (write up a bunch of IOUs). Upon completion of changing reality, what’s the point of putting a real ceiling on false numbers? Take away the cap restrictions and simply state that US productivity is perpetual and growing…we are one of the youngest countries in the world and let’s face it; we probably haven’t even hit our prime yet. Just talk positive!

Obviously Sarah has been and will continue to stall until she can figure out which ideas to steal from silly (naïve) candidates as they debate each other publicly. She just has to read and follow the above paragraph to win the nomination for whichever party she chooses to represent. You betcha!

The Republicans have nothing to contribute to fi xing our economy, other that make it worse by playing tactics that blackmail the other party. The reason they are doing this with the debt, is that they know they will lose to Obama again, they do not have a candidate worthy of leading this great Nation of Immigrants and we are all illegal at one point or another. Please don't say you are Indian, remember they were exterminated, most of them. Republicans are anti-American, they would rather it be destroyed than share the Power, especially an Ass Kicking Black Man. Viva Obama! He will get all of the Hispanic Vote.

Why is this woman even in the headlines? She isn't the leader of anythng, except for the Caribou Barbie tea party at her home in Alaska. She quit as governor when her state needed a leader to deal with real issues they were having, and yet she thinks she can now tell the intelligent people of the lower 48 states that we're the stupid ones? She isn't going to run for president, she knows she can't win. You can't quit as governor and expect people to vote for you to be their president. Oh wait you can, in fantasy Caribou Barbie-land, which is also were most of the GOP have been hanging out as well lately.

President Obama is right on with what needs to be done, as is his administration. It is sad that members of the Democratic leadership in Congress are failing to see the reality around them as well, but at least the leader of their party is acting like a leader. Republicans had 30 years to muck up the country and hand it over to corporations, and now they are fighting with empty tirades and threats to prevent the loss of all those corporate tax loop holes and other breaks the wealthy have been getting all the years. Sorry GOP, your days of anyone believing you have REAL answers and solutions are over. Sorry to hear you are going to lose so many elections in 2012! Obama in 2012!!

What a load of non sense. She basically did not say anything of substance here. Telling Republicans they can't default but they can't backoff? Reload with reality? I cannot believe there are so many idiots in the Republican Party that take this self-agrandizing pea brain seriously.

How come no one responds to her comments and say what they think about her....I don't get it??

Palindrone – Anything uttered by US Vice-President candidate, failed Alaska Governor, and wanna be historian Sarah Palin. A nonsensical series of drawn-out, padded words that don't make sense forward or backward.

Ms. Palin has been very well rewarded for her speaking engagements, personal appearances, etc. She is able to buy property in Arizona. She and her family are very fortunate. That is all there is to this story.

Ms. Palin continues to divide folks rather than unite them. The blame game does not work at a time like this. Yes, the government needs to take the heat but we are not free from blame. Our spending habits and our desire to have everything could not be sustained. Instead of blaming people, let's work to get through this. We need to remember that most of the leaders of Congress were there when the spending occurred. The Congress never put forth plans to pay for the war in Iraq or Afghanistan.

I do not remember that Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin had a plan to budget money to pay for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
