Palin returning to Iowa as her film hits TV screens

Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin will return to Iowa over Labor Day weekend as she continues to stoke speculation about her presidential ambitions.

The former Alaska governor will be the keynote speaker at a tea party rally in the Des Moines suburb of Waukee in early September.

The "Restoring America" event is being organized by The Tea Party of America, an Iowa-based conservative group.

"We don't need a 'fundamental transformation' of America," Palin said in a statement announcing the rally, taking a jab at President Barack Obama. "We need a restoration of all that is good and strong and free. The 2012 election will be a great debate between those two conflicting visions for our country."

The appearance will be Palin's second in Iowa this year.

In late June, she and her husband Todd drew hundreds of supporters to the town of Pella when she attended the premiere of the pro-Palin documentary "The Undefeated."

The timing of the trip seems calculated to maximize Palin's exposure just ahead of her self-imposed deadline for making a decision about the presidential race.

Palin will descend on Iowa - likely generating a frenzy of media coverage - on September 3. That's just two days after "The Undefeated" is made available to 75 million households via On Demand and pay-per-view on Time Warner, DirectTV and The Dish Network.

Palin recently said she plans to make a decision about the joining the Republican race in late August or September.

This is the third time this year that Palin has pegged a high-profile appearance to a holiday weekend.

Palin's bus tour of historical sites along the East Coast launched on Memorial Day weekend and sucked up political news coverage for several days. Her last visit to Iowa took place just before the July 4 weekend.

And her Labor Day appearance in Iowa is all but certain to overshadow other GOP candidates hunting for votes in the leadoff caucus state.

Stroke? Apt terminology for what really amounts to nothing more than a giant media circle jerk.

    Note to Ms. Palin:

Please stay home. We have seen more than enough to know who you are and what you want, and we have no interest.
You are not helpful to the national dialogue, and you don't have any solutions--only facile and snarky comments.
Frankly, we need somebody with a bit more substance, experience, global perspective, and wisdom.

No hard feelings--you just are not Presidential material.

Maybe someone in Iowa can teach Palin about politics and explain to her that Bush created TARP and not Obama. She was spewing hot air on Fox and made yet another mistake in history portraying that Obama created TARP. The only good thing about the debt ceiling debate is that the Tea Party Cult is done for now that they are on record saying that "Its no big deal" if the country gets a downgrade on its credit rating. Anyone that has taken this attitude will never be re elected. Many posters on here predicted that the Tea Party would hang themselves and they are doing that right now and there is no way any one of them will get re elected and that is the only good news out of this debt ceiling issue.

let's be honest here, ANY movie that goes from the theaters to DVD in a month or less is a FLOP! Palin is overexposed and just doesn't seem to want to accept it.

she is a fraud and anyone who's given money to her may regret it when the check doesn't come after 8/2. She still works for fox, until she doesn't, she isn't running.

Pay per view will allow people to buy it and receive kickbacks for ordering probably a signed picture and a copy of one of her books.

Palin is so limited she's incapable of getting her facts right or understanding the math that's on the table; Palin just blamed Obama for the TARP bailout that was done by Bush. But what can one expect from Palin, she's too lazy to read and too incompetent to understand and interpret what she reads, she's just mentally limited.

Im from Alaska and I can't find anybody that likes her up here,
except for a couple of her paliniods.
$arah isn't doing nothing but spending the money that people send her.

Whatever this woman does always seems half-complete, she quit her governorship to make money, then early this summer she kicks off a bus tour only to quit after she got heat for fumbling her history. Now she thinks she has a shot at running for President? Ha! Impossible.

It has been nearly three years (September-2008) since GOP Presidential Candidate John 'Maverick' McCain selected Sarah 'Airhead' Palin to be his V.P. nominee.

You would have thought that when McCain left the stage, he would have remembered to take out the garbage. But he didn't. Now the nation has to deal with the smell of 3-year old trash. Sarah, you are stinking up the place! Get out!

I saw the movie in Milwaukee. Democrats and Republicans should see the movie to learn what our medial did not tell us about Gov. Palin during the 08 election. The Undefeated is also a Clarion Call to all Members of the Tea Party. It ends with Palin speaking before an angry liberal crowd in Madison, Wi. The "game on" speech is one of her best. Palin, like the Marines, always runs towards the action.

That shadow will be cast by the media spotlight. The bigger the media frenzy, the bigger the shadow.

Her film tanked big time and will already be on pay per view, then sold exclusively at Walmart. Now she's hanging on trying to stay relevant. I think people are finally figuring out that they were duped by her.

On TV already, I guess "The Undefeated" wasn't boffo at the box office. And Sarah Palin should expect to do well at the ballot box either. But the real question is why does CNN even think thi is a story?
