BREAKING: Senate votes down Boehner plan

Washington (CNN) - Senate Democrats on Friday blocked the latest House Republican proposal to cut spending and increase the federal debt ceiling, setting up a weekend of negotiations to seek a deal that would avoid a potential federal default next week.

Now the negotions can begain (again) Republicans finally put together a decent bill and the democrats (who already said it wouldn't pass) killed it. I thought Republicans were the Party of No, guess not. Now compromise between this plan and Reid's plan begains.

The I-Want-To-Default-Democrat-Party has now set this country on a death spiral. No plan, no budget, not even a VOTE! If the country survives to 2012, the Democrats will be thrown out en masse, just like 2010. Actually 2012 will make 2010 look like a picnic. Only the looniest of the looney from the far left districts will remain. Comrades Obama, Reid and Pelosi will bring the Democrats to near extinction. THIS is the price you will pay for destroying this country and its economy. Remember, you heard it here first.

One last chance to listen to Moody's and Standard and Poor's. Forget Koch, Norquist, and most of the Tea Party and
go to work. Show the American people you do care, and tell Cantor to go sit in a corner and suck his thumb. Be sure
to have plenty of kleenex for Boehner though. He's gonna need it sooner or later. The extortion is over, time to
    bring out the adults.

WOW I didn't see that one coming yea right.

The DEM's just want to shove something else down our throats like everything they have done for King Obama.

balanced budget why not, stop spending, and don't raise taxes sorry that would make to much sense.

Thanks again for all you do for us tax payers.

Why don't we start with holding all the elected officials pay before anyone else.

The plan was voted to set aside, with no discussion. That's how the Dems negotiate.......our way or nothing. When the GOP reciprocates, then the Dems criticize.

So.......who's the bad guy in all this? Obama........who has suqandered so much money, that he has to be STOPPED!

First we get to hear how the Republicans are rigid ideologues marching in lock step. Now, the media tells us how Speaker Boehner can't control his party. Either way, the Republicans will be blamed regardless of the fact that the House Republicans have actually managed to pass a budget. The Senate on the other hand has voted 59-41, with some Republicans joining in (you know, those rigid ideologues) to table the bill. Seriously, a vote to decide not to vote on something? This is what has become of government.

Let's be honest for a moment, the Republicans couldn't spell the word compromise if they tried. Why would people elect these brainless people, speaking of tea party fluffs, to our highest form of governance? Its baffling! These people represent less than 30% of this country's population, yet these baffons feel as though we should all follow their petulence. I realize we will be able to vote them out in the next election, but I submit if we simply give them all a hyper-laxative, the entire lot of them would disappear in a matter of hours.

Good, I like the Senate better, even though it might make the tea party more disgrunled, I don't think they like their jobs. They always seem angry, like a bully who can get their way.

WTF is wrong with the dems? They kill a bill because they say it will put them in the same place in 6 months. Well, now we have nothing, we are there NOW! I'm so sick of this political posturing by the true party of "no"

I'm glad to hear Boehners plan was tossed. I'm sure it contained a lot of cuts to the programs we have payed for & expect to get! Not to mention the contrived part 1&2 of the proposal, which seems to be a political tactic of some sort! The Reid plan sounds more solid , without balancing the whole thing on working Americans, the poor, elderly & ill. It also gives us 2.7 billion to work with as opposed to the GOP plan of2.5! Why though, must the balancing of the budget be done in conjunction with the raising of the debt ceiling? It seems to put extra stress on an already stressful situation! As so many have suggested, raise the debt ceiling & then take care of the budget! As it is now Congress just have to tough out the course they've chosen, but it seems un-necessarily tough! This whole crisis has been worse than it needed to be, but I hope it's soon over, with a positive outcome so Americans can breathe a sigh of relief & people get their SS. checks! Few politicians seem to understand the importance of that!!

Time for the circus to end. let's cage the animals and put them in a zoo. They can no longer perform or listen to the majority of the Public. We the people need to let washington know we won't stand for such childish actions. Let move on and live with in our means and or better yet as suze orman would say(Below Your Means) Living above our means is what caused the problem/ So we neeed to spend less. We are already taxed to death in this country and don't need government to take more of our hard earned dollars for those who sit on their but and draw entitlements.

And now our clueless president and others of my fellow Democrat morons are asking for cooperation from the Republicans? I always thought cooperation went both ways.

My fellow Democrats, shame, shame. You need to stop following this president, senile Reed and Bobble Head Pelosi over the cliff. YOU ALL CAN MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN!

Gee, it's not like the House GOBPbaggers weren't warned ahead of time this would happen, and they needed to get real about compromise.

  18. The Day of Financial Reckoning is HERE – The Great Democrat Welfare Society Ends

PLEASE put this on the front pages of every newspaper in the country and the lead on every news program!!!

"Senate Democrats on Friday blocked the latest House Republican proposal to cut spending and increase the federal debt ceiling"

"Senate Democrats on Friday blocked the latest House Republican proposal to cut spending and increase the federal debt ceiling"

"Senate Democrats on Friday blocked the latest House Republican proposal to cut spending and increase the federal debt ceiling"

And please report IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE BLOCKED PROPOSALS. It is clear the Democrats intend to shut down the government and cause the nations first default. It will be the topping on the rest of their totally failed economic policies. They will then try to blame it on others (watch out George Bush! oh, that's right, the Tea Party is their latest target) and pin their horrendous economy on others as well.

@christineromans Single mother of 3 girls on SSI disability from major accident which made me unable to work. Put years in working as Office manager and owning my own business paid my SSI. Now they are saying checks may not go out in mail Tuesday. I pay my bills online and expect check to be deposited to cover bills. What am I suppose to do? pay bills and possibly go into overdraft I get incentives if I pay my home mortgage on time . I miss one payment I loose 1000,00 incentive for year. We will be on the streets in 2 months. Is that what a America wants. CUT congress salaries, their incentives (cars, dinners, tax breaks etc.) All they care about is them and do not want to lose THEIR added perks. We are suppose to be a Country set up on giving back not taking.
    Thank you
