Bachmann appeals to social conservatives in final Ames pitch

Ames, Iowa (CNN) - Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann made her last appeal to Republicans before the Ames straw poll with an Iowa-centric speech that focused on her socially conservative credentials.

“We will never be ashamed of being social conservatives,” she said.

The crowd cheered repeatedly as she affirmed her opposition to same-sex marriage and abortion.

Even some Pawlenty supporters in the arena crowd, clad in green T-shirts handed out by the former Minnesota governor’s campaign, were seen applauding as Bachmann hit the key points.

Bachmann said she will be “the launch pad” for the restoration of American greatness.

Does Social Conservatism focus on people who have been made poor to be made even poorer? Or, is it a continual series of "catch phrases" that make pols and other "carnival barkers" look good in front of cameras? Bachmann is a walking red meat megaphone. Nothing more. I seriously question "chosen one" Christians who pick and choose who should be revered and catered to, and who should be condemned by men in suits who buy and sell constitutional patriotism like snake oil...a regular Hate Circus, nothing more.

She is the highest hypocrist, a divider & a prejudist not fit to put America in a credible position in the comity of world nation. Judging from her anticidents she too extreem. she lacks diplomacy & will be unelectable as a hardliner.

Just plain scary. Most of the GOP candidates are cut from the TEA party napkins, just a little difference on the positions of the stains.

Women didn't fall for mccain's bimbo vp. Women are NOT going to find you electable.
She is blaming Obama even though she had the breaking vote on the debt ceiling. She is for only the rich.
S&P blames people like her, her teatards and the republikans for the mess last week and who knows what waits for us in the future. She doesn't seem to realize that she IS PART OF THE PROBLEM!!
Go David, make sure she doesn't get away with her lies. Stop taling about Iowa you idiot!! You were born there and you left and have lived in MN most of your life. You are not only a fake but another BIG hypocrite!

"Conservative, strong, attractive, prinicipled, well-spoken, non-token women. It drves the Left absolutely nuts."

-Conservative has its own host of concerns, but it isn't inherently an issue in a candidate. Strong.. let's wait for a crisis to decide that. Principled? Now it becomes a little more complicated. If her principles are to "not compromise on her core values" (specifically "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," gay rights, and abortion – some of the hottest debated issues) then that's a pretty unfortunate statement. Well-spoken, I suppose that depends on if her listeners like what they're hearing. Non-token... I don't even want to know what that means.

I think those Reps in Iowa have been eating too much deep fried butter on a stick.
She may be well spoken but she is completly empty when it come to ideas, repeating slogans is her strong point. As for being strong, she couldn't even stay on the stage during the debate!
