Perry announces presidential bid

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (CNN) - Rick Perry aimed Saturday to shift the focus from Iowa's straw poll to South Carolina, where he told conservative activists that he is seeking the Republican presidential nomination.

The Texas governor made the announcement at the RedState Gathering in Charleston, one day after meeting with Alabama Republicans.

Anyone should be able to beat Obama, and his dictatorial Dems, who seek to set up a monarchy government.

However, the spirit of Freedom is one of Perry's strong points........and that is going to resonate big time, with American voters.

  3. My Name is Gregg and I`m Running For President

If I were President, I would deploy Biden. Kerry and H. Clinton to Saudi Arabia to present them with a deal. If you increase oil flow by 25% for the next 18 months, the United States will sell you F-35 Joint Stike Fighters. I would deploy B. Clinton to Israel to assauage them.

Drill, baby, drill can not add a drop of oil to the market for 7 years but an infusion like this would put sustained downward pressure on prices that might give the economy a positive jolt.

You can bet the GOP / Obama haters would find 100 reasons not to do this. I can think of 1 reason to do it – it will unshackle one of the legs of the US economy.

My name is Gregg and I`m running for President.

Listening to Perry NOW – he started off by praising the RED STATES only – BIG mistake!!! STRIKE ONE!!

He blames THIS administration for the downgrade and ALL of the DEBT from the beginning of time – really??? STRIKE TWO!!

He blames THIS President for NOT protecting the borders of the US even though President Obama sent many guards to the border – MORE THAN any other President!! STRIKE THREE!!

He's OUT!!! And he's saying much more that does not make sense... Job creation to HIM is bringing illegal aliens over the border and paying them below minimum wage.........Yes he did!

Please Perry – you BARELY won the govern-ship in TX and you will NOT win the Presidency – REMEMBER, you wanted to secede from our nation and NOW you want to represent ALL????

The last thing we need is another "yahoo" from Texas like George Bush was to perpetuate more ill-gotten and already disproved policies that got us into this mess in the first place. We don't need a chest thumping, zealot of a leader at this point in our nation's history but rather a calm, even-tempered, deliberative thinker with a sophisticated and global perspective. Perry represents those with an outmoded perspective trying to preserve a way of life built on exclusion, while President Obama represents inclusion and the hopes and dreams of average Americans of all stripes. He seeks to unite and not divide the nation.

Perry begged the federal government for disaster aid. This was after he said that Texas can leave the union if it wants to.

Perry actually has executive experience BEFORE running for President...what a concept! America made a HUGE mistake almost 3 years ago by electing the current President and we must right this wrong NOW!

funny thing is iif you believe in polls is that the only person that beats Obama is Rudy and he's not even running. So your theory of ANYBODY can't be able to beat Obama just isn't true at this point.

  19. The Greedy Old Pigs have lost their minds!

Rick, lay off the drugs, 'mkay? They're messing your brain up really bad. You accidentally wrote "Obama" when you meant "Bush" and "Dems" when you meant "GOBPbaggers."

Also, can you define this "spirit of freedom" and how you believe it's "one of Perry's strong points"?

First, to my follow American,Rick somehow missed those days in 6th grade social studies classes...your lack attendance truly show your ignorance about the different types of governments. Yet, if you get a library card you can go to the library, in the history section, and take out of a free books on the different types of government. Then you will learn that President Obama is leading a democracy, voted by the people.

Second, Mr. Perry welcome to the race. It is true that they do things big in Texas, then your failure will very big. Oh, that is right your big failures in Texas educational system and healthcare services are already showing...In the 21st Century Americans need to well-educated and healthy to compete in the world. At least President Obama recognize this and is spending money to educate our children and working to get them proper access to healthcare so that they can compete and win.
