Greenland, New Hampshire (CNN) - Just hours after announcing his presidential candidacy, Texas Gov. Rick Perry will formally launch his efforts in the first-in-the-nation primary state.
His New Hampshire team is ready.
Perry will meet with voters at the home of Deputy House Speaker Pam Tucker, one of several state officials who traveled to Austin to woo the governor this month.
In the picturesque backyard, Perry will give remarks before making his way into the audience to meet with supporters and undecided voters.
The party begins at 5 p.m. ET.

Perry is starting to roll out his "I'm an even more incompetent buffoon that Bush" national tour.
Liberals won't be happy until they have a President Perry. Stop complaining and start supporting the real Pres.Obama. No other President never had to face so many crisis and the opposition just sit on their hands. The Republican Tea Party would rather see Americans suffer than to help this President with a victory. We don't have kings and queens ruler, but we have economic terrorist that would rather tear this country apart to get what they want. Big business enabler is the Republican Party. The senior see it with their own eyes the Ryan Plan attack them and didn't ask a dime from their masters. Voters need to be aware their motto is " First you come for them, then we come for you" the only thing that level the playing field is your vote.
This is the same guy that last year made rumblings about seceding from the union...now he wants to lead it?
Sorry, Jefferson Davis Perry, the civil war has laready been fought and you lost. You wil NOT be elected president, go back to Texas where you belong.
We're still trying to get water here in Texas, Ricky.
Isn't this the same man who announced that Texas should secede from the United States? He owes his political career to George W. Bush who preceded him as governor. When Bush resigned, Perry got the job.
It will be interesting to see if he changes any of his positions to be more electable in 2012, His appeal is to Conservatives right now. Folks are giving him breathing room right now but he still has questions to answer.
I hope Iowa survives Perry's visit! I know during his tenure here in Texas our schools, highways, and all of our state services went down the toilet. Slicky-boy "Good Hair" is almost a clone of his mentor "W" except Perry's more of a homophobic bigot and an even worse religious zealot. He'd model our government after another theocracy – Iran. America could prove itself incapable of operating a democracy by electing yet another folksy, but moronic Texan!
Don't forget to vote for Parry. That's with an "A" for "America," an "A" for "IowA".
Wonder if his wife is with him or if he brought one of his really really (barely over 18) young girlfriends?
Hey – we could watch another impeachment if he wins - he's worse than Clinton ever was with his womanizing. What entertainment !! (And we really need to waste all that money again).
Perry the platypus needs to go back home. NO MORE RECKLESS TEXANS! We haven't even forgot about the last one yet! Of course, if anyone is going to get trounced in a general, it's Perry - the platypus.
If you think Bush was bad, wait til this guy starts talking...another bought and paid for tparty nut.
