BLITZER'S BLOG: Greetings from Iowa

Decorah, Iowa (CNN) – This is really rural northeast Iowa. And I love it.

What a pleasure to get out of Washington for a few days. I can identify with President Obama and the Republican presidential candidates who are all working the crowds here in the Midwest. The people are very friendly and seem so happy to see us; the weather is fabulous; and the corn fields are majestic.

When will the president know that nothing he does to try to appease the repugs will not work. He appease them with the health insurance by going against hs liberal base and take health care from the government and put it to the private sector. He appease them by going against his own vice president who wanted to implement covert operations in Afghanistan, Obama went with the repugs and their 30 thousand troop serge. He appease by extension of the bush tax cuts. Lesson with the healthcare program, this would be bringing in billions of dollars to the treasury justt like Medicare and social security is doing. Which is the soul reason why the government is not bankrupt at this moment because we are simply not taking in any revenues from the lowest tax rates in 60 years. Folks we are fighting two wars, where are we suppose to pay for this with no money coming in as revenues. The repugs stance on not raising revenues are destroying this country while they advocate to keep the wars going, this is simply madness.

Brain dead obama out campaigning on the tax payers dollar calling it a listening tour. Bull poop. This idiot is campaigning and then off he goes on another in a long list of vacations at a place for $50,000.00 per night. You do not think he is paying for this vacation, do you? You betcha, the taxpayers are paying for it. Liberals complained because President Bush vacationed at his own home but not a peep out of them over this over spending fool.

I would like for someone to ask the President why, considering the awesome turnaround in the economy during the first year of the Obama administration, they don't focus more on the numbers, using charts/graphs to make the point clear. Jobs went from LOOSING over 750,000 per month to large private sector gains. GDP went from MINUS more than 6% the last quarter of 2008 to PLUS over 4% after one year of the Stimulus. Yet lying repugs say the Stimulus was a waste of money.

Then, the President should point out how repugs put the brakes on the eonomy after Senator Kennedy's seat went to the repugs. Let the Lying Propaganda Machine dispute THAT. On a graph, anyone can see the end of the turnaround when the repugs got the ability to filibuster in the Senate.

If I were one of the super wealthy, I don't need to start up a company to make more money. Running a company is hard work. I would rather invest than start up a company.

I would rather invest through an intermediary by buying stocks in a bank, than loaning my precious cash to an entreprenuer, whom I know a little about and even less about his proposal.

Now that tax cut I just got to be a "job creator" is not going to change my mind. I can afford to pass on the headache of directly running a company. Let someone else do it.
