Huntsman criticizes rivals in prime time interview

(CNN) - For a second straight day, Jon Huntsman is going after his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination.

In an interview to run Monday and Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," the former Utah governor and former U.S. ambassador to China criticized Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, two of the leading candidates at this stage of the race in the battle for the GOP nomination. And he also entertained serving as a running mate to Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, should she win the Republican nomination.

Will Palin be in by Labor Day? 'I doubt it'

(CNN) - Karl Rove caused a commotion in recent days by predicting that Sarah Palin will run for president and hinting that she could announce her campaign during a speech to a tea party group in Iowa over Labor Day weekend.

That might be news to Palin. Asked just over a week ago if she would be ready to join the race by the time Labor Day rolls around, Palin responded, "I doubt it."

Only a few months ago, who would have thought that Moammar Gadhafi would go down this way? Then again, who would have thought that Hosni Mubarak would wind up in a hospital bed in a courtroom cage?

Obama to address developments in Libya

(CNN) - President Barack Obama will tape a statement on Libya at 2 p.m. ET, the White House announced Monday.

Additional information on Sunday night and Monday morning has provided "some greater clarity and confirmation about circumstances on the ground" in Libya, a White House official said in explaining the decision for Obama to tape a statement on the situation later Monday.

2012 candidates react to events in Libya

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidates responded Monday to the apparent collapse of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's government.

Monday marked "Day 2" in Tripoli for rebel forces as they made gains in the capital. While the whereabouts of Gadhafi were not known, three of his sons were in the custody of rebel forces. Here are the latest developments.

A celebration of Reagan, with pigskin

(CNN) - The 100th anniversary of the late President Ronald Reagan's birth is getting the football treatment in September, with teams across the country kicking off their games by flipping a Reagan Centennial Commemorative Coin.

Games played during the weekend of September 23 through 26 will commence with the coin flip, followed by a loudspeaker announcement and Reagan football tribute video, according to the Reagan foundation. Reagan was born on February 6, 1911.

CNN: Rove's Palin prediction
Karl Rove predicted Sunday that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is likely to run for president and will make her decision known soon. Rove, the former top political adviser to President George W. Bush and co-founder of American Crossroads, a conservative political action committee, said Palin's upcoming trip to Iowa and recent web video are evidence she is gearing up for a run.
