(CNN) - Michele Bachmann's press secretary characterized comments by the Republican presidential candidate, when she said Hurricane Irene was a message to Washington, as a joke.
"Obviously she was saying it in jest," Alice Stewart told TalkingPointsMemo Monday.
"Washington, D.C. you'd think by now they'd get the message," Bachmann said at a town hall in Florida Saturday to laughs. "An earthquake, a hurricane, are you listening? The American people have done everything they possibly can, now it's time for an act of God and we're getting it."
I don't think that Michele was "obviously kidding". No I think she is an evangelistic nut case who wants the end of the world to come in her lifetime, because she is so special.
I wonder if this woman thinks that the plains on 9-11 were a sign from god also.
Not funny. Trying to advance hernown agenda by any means. AFLAC fired Gilbert Gottfried over Japan Tsunami jokes. What will GOP do with Bachmann??
rapierpoint made the comment that everyone needs to lighten up and that comedians and others are making similar jokes, however comedians are not hoping to be the POTUS. Also, no matter who tells jokes regarding human tradegy are free game to whatever backlash comes.
To Bachman and the rest of world leaders who use God as a politcal shield – please stop. God does not want our politics and He did not write our constitution so stop worshipping it. Stop being like the Religious leaders in the Bible, praying in the streets and letting everyone know how great you are.
