Washington (CNN) - Former Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell will join Sarah Palin as a speaker at a tea party rally this weekend in Iowa, one of the event's organizers told CNN.
A representative of O'Donnell, who is traveling the country to promote her book "Troublemaker," approached the rally's representatives Monday to ask if there was room for her to speak, Charlie Gruschow, national co-chairman of the Iowa-based Tea Party of America, said. And there was.
No other national leaders will address the rally, Gruschow said. Palin, who is considering a presidential run, is slated as the event's closing speaker on Saturday afternoon.
Palin's address is drawing interest from around the nation, according to Gruschow, who said he has not been given any additional information on what the former Alaska governor may discuss at the event.
"She will make a major statement at the event," Gruschow said last week. "Whether it be an announcement to run, not to run, or lay a marker in the sand for other candidates."
The rally is meant to help promote the tea party values of limited government, the importance of the Constitution and fiscal responsibility, event organizers have said.

Ying and Yang at the same event. Certainly a must for the teabag set.
i hope i can get tickets to fly to the event! so much stupidity under 1 tent.
they forgot to ask michelle- the 3 from McBeth-!
Wow. Two places I don't ever want to be – a tea party rally where there are people misguided enough to go to see palin and o'donnell; and Iowa.
oops they forgot to include rick- he pray's for rain!
Two great Americans who loves this country. Sarah Palin will make a great President and I hope she runs so we can defeat the worst and most dangerious President this country ever had, Barack Obama go bank to Chicago.
Man i just hope they have that bouncing ball at the bottom of the screen if they show this on Tv so we can try to understand what these to are saying ..
Just be sure not to ask either of them any questions that they haven't already memorized the answers to....they might melt down, call you a "gotcha journalist", and walk off.
If it weren't for the sad fact that Tea Partiers actually respect these two women, I would have thought the headline was a bad joke. Can't wait to hear what quotes come out of this pairing. This should be rich. John Stewart, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno will have enough material for MONTHS after these two nutbags headline this event.
Put these two together and you're still half a brain short of a complete one!
Why not call it "The Irrelevant Tour"?
"No other national leaders will address the rally"

"Other" national leaders?! Implies that O'Donnell and Palin are national leaders, which they are not. They are national disgraces, national twits, and national punchlines, but nowhere close to being national leaders.
One has a failed movie. One has a failed book. It's a promotional event sponsored by their mutual admiration societies.
Two great Reps for the Tea Party cause a witch( who has done nothing in real life) and a quitter who is as smart as my 6 yr. old. Let me see if i was trying to make a name for myself like the Tea Party is I would surely want my very best to present myself to the public not some clowns.
It will be quite a Klan rally. They could throw in Michelle Bachman and do a remake on an old TV show. They could call it "Charley's Bimbos". This sort of exposure must make reasonable Republicans quite worried. Is this the Republican Party of today?
Who'd you rather...?
You know you've hitched your horse to a losing post when they start bringing in these two clowns – or are they witches?
Add in Bachman, and you would have 3 very empty heads.
The only reason the Iowans will show up for this is that they think it will feature mus wrestling. Remind me to drive around Iowa if I'm ever travelling that way.
Now maybe she will be able to sell the sixth copy of her book - to Palin (if someone can read it to her).
Yippee!! Wet t-shirt contest! Wet t-shirt contest!! Then, since this is Iowa – milk the cow contest. Milk the cow contest!!!
Setting women back a thousand years.
Halfway there. Stick Palin, O'Donnell, Angle and Bachman in the four corners of a room, have them all spew talking points at once and you'd have a quadrophinic stupidity feedback loop capable of instantly erasing even the most educated of minds.
Does O'Donnell have her exit strategy in place when she is asked a question she does not want to answer? I'm sure we will hear a lot about the "lame stream media", if anyone other than FOX is allowed to cover the event. You know they have nothing to actually contribute to any real issues being faced by the Nation right now. All they need now is to get Bachmann and her pom poms out there with them and the "ditzy threesome" will offer much enterainment.
This is a joke and Iowa is becoming a gathering place for the circus. I can't believe anyone with any intelligence would even consider going to hear these two idiots offer there uneducated, moronic opinions on anything. I feel bad for the Iowans who have to tolerate their state hosting such nonsense.
Gee...I wonder why the Teabags are the most hated people in America. Just look at their heroes. Yuck.
