WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama will travel to New York this month to take part in the U.N. General Assembly, the White House announced Thursday.
The September 19-21 trip also will include meetings with visiting officials and a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative, according to the White House statement.
I recall that the General Assembly was in session in early September 2001. Air traffic always flows in typical patterns, like north up the Hudson River. I was of Ground Zero by 10 miles and saw a low flying plane flying south moving faster than usual. Odd, yes. Unusual, no. Traffic patterns change during special events in the city, especially during General Assembly with all of the heads of state in town. Found out an hour later about the attacks. That was a Tuesday. It was not until Friday that I realized I saw the first plane as it was traveling south down the Hudson River.
And the GOPers and Teatrolls will find some asinine fault with it. YAWN.
Three days at the UN? For what purpose? Oh yeah, give speeches. A total waste of time and money. It will screw up NYC traffic really well too. Hey Rudy, maybe you and your buddy Barack can do lunch while he's there? You can personally hand him your $10 check.
The Tea Baggers not going to like this. They think the United Nations is a terrorist organization!
You can bet your bottom dollar the TEApublicans are going to criticize him for this.
while he is there ,,see if he can get the dues from those dead beat countries who hate us ..
I wonder if he will borrow from Bush's speech, "You're either for us or you'r ag'in us.
