Bush: No sense of jubilation at bin Laden's death
(CNN) - Former President George W. Bush says he experienced no pleasure when he heard about the death of Osama bin Laden, the al Qaeda leader responsible for orchestrating the deadly terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
"He was sitting in a restaurant in Dallas when the Secret Service told him that President (Barack) Obama wanted to speak to him. He then learned about the assassination," documentarian Peter Schnall told CNN in an interview set to air Monday.

He would have landed on a carrier with "Mission Accomplished" if Osama had been eliminated under his watch. Since he was clueless, he said that he did not care where bin Laden was. It has to be hard for clueless inept republicans to realize that the 'war on terror' was not their strong suit.
[For a period of time, the president was unsure if that order was responsible for the crash of United Airlines flight 93 near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. ]
I always thought this was the REAL reason why that plane went down in PA – And if that was the case, it was all right for the time. The plane did not respond – it was known it was hijacked – NO ONE knew where it was headed – At that moment, we were at war – Therefore, shoot it down!!!
I had a problem with the "cover up".
Bush should have felt "jubilation" because he went after the person responsible for 9/11 and the HEAD MASTERMIND was finally killed!!! Maybe he did not feel "jubilation" because he took his eyes off the war in Afghanistan and started an unjust war in Iraq. Maybe if he had kept his eyes on the ball and fought the “war of necessity” in Afghanistan, he would have captured and/or killed Osama bin Laden and felt “jubilant” in doing so!!!
Mr. Bush – Let me be among the 1st to say that while I almost universally disagreed with your neo-con policies, I questioned your intellectual capacity for the presidency and I saw significant deficiencies in your leadership style, I recognize in you a measure of common decency and some modicum of compassion that others in your party just don't have. You sir, are at least a somewhat decent person who stands by certain hoinorable convictions. Cheney on the other hand – not so much.
Even though I didn't think much of you as a President, when the Iraqi threw those shoes at you, I and many other "liberals" were outraged because, regardless of everything else, you were the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. We've had kicked his ____ if given the chance. It's too bad that the most fervent Democrats seem to have MORE respect for the Office of the Presidency than the most rabid of TeaPartiers.
If you value the future of your party, you should lead the effort to purge them from your ranks. No Bachmann. No Perry. No Flipflopper Romney. You'll be better served to endorse Mr. Huntsman and do so quickly.

Huntsman is the candidate that would win most Independents – some on the RIGHT and some on the LEFT!!! Huntsman is being ignored right now and I blame the media – who rather see a "cat fight" or "squabbles in the ranks". If Bush has the heart to endorse Huntsman – I don't know if that would HURT Huntsman or not – but it would be a "decent" move on Bush's part. It would also SLAP everyone else in the face, more of a direct impact on Perry!!! We shall see.
All in all – it does not matter who comes out on top on the RIGHT – Obama will prevail in 2012!! If Huntsman is the nominee, he will lose a lot from the RIGHT that would definitely stay home and not vote – Remember, he praised Obama and that was a hateful thing to do!!
This is why I do not trust at all Republicans to change the economy. It is all about talks. Was it not Bush who said he wanted bin Laden "Dead or Alive"? His wishes was fulfilled and still tells us he was not happy!!!!!!!
There is a difference between jubilation and relief. There is no joy in the need to put down a mad dog like Bin Laden but there is relief that at least that particular mad dog will do no more harm. Fanatics, especially religious fanatics, are very dangerous. We have a growing threat from right-wing Christian fanatics in our country. If we allow them to gain control, they will be just as dangerous and any other religious fanatics. Those who use God to justify their hateful, destructive actions cannot be stopped with reason. They will dehumanize their enemies the same way that Bin Laden did so that they can feel no remorse for their cruel and deadly actions. If we allow this to happen in our country, the U.S. will look like the middle east. Truth is the first victim and so many false claims and accusations are being accepted by people who want to believe the worst and never question information that supports their prejudice.
He's not thrilled maybe because he wasn't President when it happened?
Im getting really tired of all you democrats ripping on the tea party, it shows that you are all scared of what you dont understand. Normal people fed up with crap our government is trying to shove down our throats, back room deals, pushing bills thru go the wee hours me the morning, that will be more harmful than good. The Bush family and Bin Laden family were freinds and businees partners so I would not expect them to be excited over his death, especially since he had nothing to do with it and lost interest long ago in catching Bin Laden.
Of course he experienced no "pleasure". In fact I'm sure he harbored resentment towards President Obama because AGAIN he was UNABLE to accomplish this closure. Any REAL patriot / former president would take pride in this but due to his inadequate performance as CIC he pouted like a two year old child. My God these people have no shame.

He and Cheney probably paid for OBL's house in Pakistan so they could keep the fear going in this country. He's the worst president this country EVER had - EVER. Check history.
