Giuliani: “I could beat Obama…”

(CNN)-Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani thinks he could throw President Barack Obama out of office — that is, if a presidential election were held right now.

Giuliani told CNN’s Piers Morgan Wednesday, “If Barack Obama remained roughly where he is now, sure, I think I could beat him.”

He sought the 2008 GOP nomination for president, but Tuesday told a gathering at the National Press Club that he would only run again if the GOP became “desperate.”

And in an interview airing on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” Giuliani continued, “But I think, you know, three or four Republicans could beat him right now given how weak he is and how his approval numbers have pretty much dipped below 40 percent.”

The former mayor, known for serving New York City through 9/11, admitted that he’d still be tempted to seek the Republican nomination in 2012, “If I thought that we couldn’t beat Obama with the candidates that we had.”

“If I think we can’t, if people are refusing to take up some of the challenges that are out there which include really dealing with spending — because if the next president doesn’t have the courage to deal with entitlement spending along with everything else — and particularly health care — cause that’s really the key — then we’re not straightening out the problems in our economy. And somebody’s got to have the courage to step up and talk about that.”

Maybe in 2004, while still milking the 9/11 tragedy for all he could. I'd say yes. But this is 2011 and Obama was at the helm while Navy SEAL Team 6 punched 2 new holes in Bin Laden's face. NOTHING Rudy could say or do regarding 9/11 will top that. Check, and Mate... BHO.

I love how everyone bases how they could beat Obama based on his current ratings. Someone needs to break it to these people that the election is still a fair way off.

Is this the same Giuliani that got kicked out of his mansion for bringing his Mistriss home to where he and his wife and kids lived. If I recall he had to leave the mansion and move into a [FRIENDS] apartment and sleep on a couch. Somehow I do not believe that particular lifestyle is WHITE HOUSE ready. The big gay parade of New York might not want to change stage location.

President Obama is a good and decent man with real family values, real Christian values, real leadership skills, and real economically-sound solutions. Republicans can find nothing negative on him so they make up lies about him, show him total disrespect, and have opened up ugly racism again in our nation through the Tea Party. If you look at the FACTS – President Obama has done the best he could possibly do with constant obstruction of everything he says, does, or wants to do for the nation. by the anti-PEOPLE party of Republicans. We need 4 more years of Obama with NO REPUBLICANS and then we will see the PEOPLE and the nation recover.

Rudy has no chance. He has to have more in his arsenal than shouting, "9/11!" Obama can be beaten so long as the GOP fields a credible candidate. Right now it's all a bunch of right-wing John Kerrys.

With all the baggage he carries, he will be lucky if anyone in the GOP even admits to knowing him. When your own kids won't have anything to do with you, why would the public?

I was going to post earlier, but I hurt myself from laughing and had to recover first. Guess he doesn't learn from history, a really bad thing in someone who want's to be President.

If he doesn't than he needs to get back in to NYC. Bloomberg is making a mess of it. There was gunfire while he was walking in the West Indian Parade How many people were shot over the weekend? So what does Bloomberg say? He wants the Fed to crack down on gun violence. Push it on DC? Giuliani took Times Square from sleaze to someplace alot nicer. Crime was down. Trash got picked up. Bloomberg will take NYC back to 1978.
