Austin, Texas (CNN) - In February 2009, Sam Bassett got called to Gov. Rick Perry's office.
Bassett was then chairman of the Texas Forensic Science Commission, an agency set up in 2005 to regulate state crime labs after a series of embarrassing scandals. The first matter on its plate involved the 2004 execution of Cameron Todd Willingham, whose murder conviction rested largely on testimony that many arson experts now call outdated and incorrect.
FULL STORY
Classic "good old boy" behaviour. Stupid, incompetant, ridiculous and sooo old and irrelevant.
The tea baggers love him, but he has a lot of T baggage. (T for Texas.) The republican culture of corruption is alive and well with Perry.
I would be for getting rid of the death penalty if people who werer given life without parole were put in a prison hundreds of miles from anyone like Alaska, not allowed family visits since their victims family can never see them, and made to do hard labor not live in the hotel hilton. Alsothey sholud not get any better medical treatmnet than the people who guard them like in California.
This crook might have killed a innocent man
Perry's eyes are as cold and dead looking as a shark – THE EYES ARE THE WINDOW TO THE SOUL.
Guilty of a cover up, huh? The GOP just never stop with the lies to the American people.
How many more skeletons will come out of this man's closet? Heck, when is this man gonna come out of his own closet?
Kill an innocent man?
Pay for play Texas?
Lure (steal) jobs away from other states?
Inflated employment numbers due to Gov jobs (and Obama's stimulus)?
Secession?
Al Gore's Democratic (male) Cheerleader?
What else??
Texan's help me out here, you guys have to deal with him. I know this guys got more to surface...
Umm... Is this article finished? I thought there would be more to it.
Yep...I was shocked that the crowd at the Republican debate tonight, cheered like crazy that Ricky said he was proud to put over 200 people to death and never lost a moments sleep thinking "not even one of them was innocent"
Ok...I'm pro death penalty but common, I don't think of it as a wonderful thing or cheer that someone dies for their crimes. Maybe now I need to change my view to be anti, because I refuse to agree with this "cow patty/cowboy"
this idiot is a nut bag of Ponzy Schemes.....all bogus....o.k, Oil guys got away with taxes, all Minimum wage jobs, no health insurance, money from Stimulus, 28 billion dollar deficit in Texas, he is going to mess social security, says Ponzy Scheme...what an idiot....
He let what seems to be an innocent man be killed. Backpedal all you want!
Perry looks more and more like GWB, who never met an execution he didn't like. Perry seems to have the same bloodthirsty, innocence-be-damned attitude.
