'Job creators' to attend Obama speech
Washington (CNN) – Speaker John Boehner announced Thursday that twelve "job creators" will sit in the speaker's box at President Barack Obama's joint address to Congress tonight.
Boehner said that each of these guests exemplify regulations that have effected businesses around the United States.
These are "people with real world experience on how the regulations coming out of this administration are impeding their ability to grow their business and create jobs," said Boehner.
Among the special guests in attendance will be Henry Juszkiewicz, CEO of Gibson Guitar Company. Looking for illegally imported wood, armed agents from the US Fish and Wildlife Service raided two of Gibson's Tennessee production facilities and its Nashville headquarters on Aug. 24.
A release announcing the invited guests from Boehner's office said that "unelected Washington bureaucrats won't say" why they raided the Gibson facility.
"No charges have been filed and federal regulators have not explained to the company what may have been wrong or how to rectify the situation," the Boehner release stated.
An affidavit filed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service does state why the facilities were raided. "Gibson falsely labeled the wood shipment to make it sound legal and suspiciously omitted the company's name as the recipient," stated the affidavit.
"Henry is the type of CEO that is doing the right thing," Rep. Marsha Blackburn. R-Tennessee. "My hope is that the President will listen to these employers and job creators and will help get America back to work."
Obama will outline his job creation plans in an address to Congress, and the special guests, at 7p.m. tonight.

- Safi Bahcall, president and CEO of Synta Pharmaceuticals
- Gordon Logan, CEO of Sports Clips
- Jack Earle, managing partner at Earle Enterprises.

Speaker Boehner should put some effort in getting GOP/Tea Party boycotting members to attend the President's speech.
So Boehner makes this allegation that regulators went after a company without any reason, yet CNN is able to find a stated reason in the affidavit for the search. Boehner didn't do much research it seems as the affidavit would have made it clear the reasons that the raid occurred.
As for the "job creators" who just happen to be sitting on record profits: the real job creators are those who don't have the money to buy the products and services of the "job creators" mentioned in the article. Until consumers start buying again, businesses don't have any reason to risk that profit on hiring new employees (no matter how many times you cut their taxes or lower the amount of regulations.)
If your going to use this as an example, you probably need to provide more background. It makes it sound like the Obama administration pass some rule limited wood imports. Who knows if this law goes back to 1960's. Also, what is the purpose of the law, because there are certain import restriction aim at preventing devastating insects from coming into this country putting the forestry industry at risk.
Give us voters some respect, we are old enough to know that some laws benefit the greater good and there are some that do need to repealed.
What about your Republican peeps in Congress. Will they attend! Or are they afraid they might hear something good about creating jobs here in the good old USA. This is a lot better than signing a pledge of no new taxes!
If you want to sign something, sign a pledge to help find the best way to creat jobs.
Also, how in the wide, wide world of sports did Mr. Walsh, from the state of IL, get elected to Congress? They must have been giving something away!
You have got to be kidding, GOP. Just how does a raid by the US Fish and Wildlife Service on Gibson guitars impact the ability of Gibson guitars to make money and hire new workers ? Are you complete simpletons? We are not buying your into circus sideshow and each bizarre and ridciulous claim is just one more reason to vote a straight ticket for Democrats.
I bet 10-1 that these so called job creators are registered republicans. GTFOOH.
