What's in Obama's stimulus plan

New York (CNNMoney) - President Obama unveiled a stimulus plan Thursday night that he says will boost hiring and provide a jolt to the stalled economy if it becomes law.

A mix of $253 billion in tax cuts and $194 billion in new spending, the total bill for the plan is $447 billion. Given staunch Republican opposition to most new spending, the measure has almost no chance of passing the House in its current form.

    Well that was a bust.
I think what most of the American people will say was that they turned on the TV and watched an Obama rerun. Obama pretty much just delivered the same ideas and sales pitchs we have all heard him deliver countless times before trying to sell the first stimulus.
There were no new ideas to make this stimulus two any different than stimulus one.
We will see what the polls say over the coming days. But I don't think this will sell to a majority of voters.
I expected the partisan lecture, that is just standard Obama. I expect the Republicans will just brush it off and go about the business of writing a bill or series of bills that I believe will sell to a majority of voters.

Hey the repugs keep bitching about lower taxes and deregulations to deal with china's massive economic growth. They think doing this will entice big corporations to come back to America, what tea is these repugs inhaling. When bush cut taxes and deregulated our economy into ablivia. More corporations skip town more than any time in america history. If repugs think that tax cuts and deregulations can compete with china who has 7 time more consumers than we have, no middle class wages, and they work seven days a week. To compete with china America would have to get rid of the middle class completely, and pay every one minimum wage, just to keep cost cutting big corporations on our shores, without our middle class their will be no one left to support our housing, transportations, and high item industries, because the poor workers cannot afford them. Furthermore, 300 million, minimum wage consumers competing agains china's nearly 2 billion consumers is no competition in any sense. Our secret of competing with china is our strong middle class. Because way more countries will buy our quality products, over china's quantity. Getting rid of our middle class will doom our country.

So Obama is still selling the same snake oil he sold us 3 years ago. And he is still using the same line to close the sale, 'This bill must be passed right away!'. Funny, I would have thought if it was this urgent Obama would have tried to sell it to us before he went on his bus tour and before he went to the Hamptons to vacation and frolic with the rich people. But one good thing is it sounds like Obama has a 50% of sale price this time around. It still won't work any better than it did 3 years ago, but at least the price is a bargain this time. Then again 400 billion is a lot of money to waste on snake oil even at a bargain price.

It's strange how the word "stimulus" was not used ONCE in President Obama's speech but yet CNN and most likely all other networks will use the word. The candidates will do the same – but it will all backfire!!!

    Obama/Biden 2012!!!

Democrats were hyping this as a plan with new ideas? Spend now with a hope and a prayer to pay for it later. I think even liberals would agree they've done that before too!
