Tampa, Florida (CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal wants to help Texas Gov. Rick Perry become president - but he does not want to be Perry's vice-president.
Jindal spoke with reporters following Monday's "CNN-Republican Tea Party Debate." Earlier the same day, the Louisiana Republican endorsed Perry's presidential bid.
In the post-debate "spin room," Jindal was asked whether he would help Perry look for a running mate should Perry win the GOP nomination?
"He doesn't need my help to look for a V.P.," Jindal said. "I want to help him get elected."
A reporter pressed, "Would Jindal be Perry's V.P.?"
"No. I will not be his V.P. I want to be governor of the great state of Louisiana," Jindal said.
No Bobby Jindal , you wont be VP under Perry , your from the South . Perry needs a woman or a latino from the North . Yet you will be ambassador to India !
I could have told Jindal that
I don't know if I would really want Jindal's help. I think that Perry will fail well enough on his own.
