Republican Bob Turner on Tuesday won the special election in New York's heavily Democratic ninth congressional district - pulling a huge upset that few would have predicted just months ago.

CNN: Obama's push for jobs act will last months, officials say
High school students chanted "pass this bill" to a rousing speech Tuesday by President Barack Obama touting his $447 billion jobs plan, while senior administration officials said the push for Congress to approve the legislation would last months.

CNN Poll: More Americans trust Obama on economy over Republicans in Congress
President Obama’s disapproval ratings may be at an all-time high, but in a new CNN/ORC International poll, more Americans say they trust him on economic matters more than they do Republicans in Congress.

The Obama White House tried to rush federal reviewers for a decision on a nearly half-billion-dollar loan to the solar-panel manufacturer Solyndra so Vice President Biden could announce the approval at a September 2009 groundbreaking for the company’s factory, newly obtained e-mails show.

CNNMoney: Poverty rate rises in America
Amid a still struggling economy, more people in America fell below the poverty line last year, according to new census data released Tuesday. The nation's poverty rate rose to 15.1% in 2010, its highest level since 1993. …The government defines the poverty line as income of $22,314 a year for a family of four and $11,139 for an individual.

CNN: TSA rolling out new screening procedures for children
Responding to the uproar over physical searches of children, the Transportation Security Administration is rolling out new procedures that should reduce, although not eliminate, the number of times children are patted down at airport checkpoints.

New York Times: North Carolina Voters to Decide on Same-Sex Marriage
It is already illegal for people of the same sex to marry in North Carolina. If the amendment passes, it will serve to reinforce that ban and make it more difficult for future legislatures to extend marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples.

CNN: Judge rules health care law's insurance mandate unconstitutional
A Pennsylvania federal judge ruled Tuesday that the provision in President Barack Obama's health care initiative requiring individuals to purchase health insurance is unconstitutional.

CNN: Taliban attack in central Kabul ends
A nearly day-long Taliban siege on the U.S. Embassy and NATO command in Kabul ended early Wednesday, said Siddiq Siddiqi, an Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman. Six militants have been killed and the building they were firing from has been cleared, he said.

CNN: 19 civilians killed in Syria, opposition group says
At least 23 people were killed Tuesday in Syria, the opposition activist group Local Coordination Committees of Syria reported. Of that number, at least 19 were civilians, the group said.

The United States faced increasing pressure on Tuesday as the Palestinian quest for statehood gained support from Turkey and other countries, even as the Obama administration sought an 11th-hour compromise that would avoid a confrontation at the United Nations next week.

CNN: Iran says American hikers may be released in days
The families of two American hikers held in Iran for more than two years say they are "overjoyed" at reports they may be released within days. Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer will be released from Tehran's Evin prison after a $500,000 bail is paid for each of them, their attorney, Masoud Shafiee, said Tuesday.

CNNMoney: Google launches Flight Search – with a cool feature rivals lack
Google launched a new flight search service on Tuesday, putting it in direct competition with travel search players including Orbitz and Kayak. …One unique feature is an open-ended destination: Users can click the Flight Search map and use filters to see where they can go within certain time and cash boundaries.

    They say Republicans LOVES JEWS and they have a more “fiscal responsible” demeanor
    What the Hell? Really?

    And the Republicans are back to their games because they realized the next DAY
    That if they “work with the President” that would be against their morals and he would also get a WIN
    And that would be one of the greatest downfalls on their part and a most unforgiveable SIN!

    But yet they keep “electing” PUBS thinking once again they would put them through a test
    Only to find out once they’re elected, they have NO SOLUTIONS and they begin to digress
    Forgetting why they were elected or just NOT KNOWING how to get us out of this MESS!!!

    And come up with a plan before the RIGHT because all of a sudden they are running on the notion
