The other 'American Jobs Act'

Washington (CNNMoney) - At least one House Republican is having a chuckle over the "American Jobs Act." Earlier this week, no House Democrat had officially filed a bill introducing the $447 billion jobs package that President Obama had sent to Congress.

The president, of course, dubbed his proposal the American Jobs Act. Well, Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Texas Republican, liked that moniker so much he slapped it on a bill of his own - one that would never be embraced by any Democrat.

Obama outright LIED on national TV about this bill.

Sorry Obama but you've proven yourself a LIAR.

That is funny. But their will be a second bill as Republicans will not pass Obama's whole stimulus plan. It does not have the support of a majority of voters, so big win for Republicans to not pass it. Democrats may write up Obama's bill, but it won't pass the House.
One of two things will happen with a new stimulus bill.
    1) Obama drops his demand that his plan be passed without any changes and works with Republicans to create a bipartisan compromise bill.
    2) Obama refuses to work with Republicans on a compromise and Republicans write their own bill. The Republicans then give the voters time to review both bills and decide which one they prefer.
One other possibility if Obama will not compromise is Republicans pass the portions they agree with. Any further changes would happen under options 1 and 2 that I described.

If not The American Jobs Act then what? The Republican have control the House for nine months. not one jobs plan. So, when a plan is presented the Republicans balks. CNN use to be the voice of the people, but now they hitch their wagon to the Tea Party. What a shame!

At least one House Republican is having a chuckle over the "American Jobs Act." – If I were a Republican member of Congress I would not be chuckling. They have not passed any legislation of significance this entire year. In other words they have been getting paid with my tax dollars to DO NOTHING. The Republican and fiscal terrorist that are members of Congress are getting close to treasonous behavior and soon recalls are going to be started.

The only plan Republicans have for creating jobs is to give more tax cuts to companies with trillions of dollars in the bank. One day conservatives cite "uncertainty". One day it is 'high tax rates". One day it is "high cost of labor". One day it is "too much regulation." One day it is "high cost of health care." Or how about these catchy phrases. "Government doesn't create jobs." "President Obama has not created jobs."

Conservatives implemented all of that stuff during the GWB administration, and it nearly destroyed the not just our economy, but the almost the entire global economy. Some day conservatives will come up with an actual plan that can create actual jobs. Don't hold your breathe. Conservatives seem to think unemployment is a good joke.

It would be nice to see a bi-partisan government working together to tweek Obamas Jobs Act & make it workable for all the citizens of this nation! But that will never happen, Repub-Teabags will not work with Obama for any reason & put their own partisan politics before the good of their constituents! They have been talking loudly & non-stop about the need for jobs, but I have yet to hear a viable plan coming from the right! They are too busy denigrating all the president does & looking out for their big$$ benefactors! I don't trust any of the front runners to care for this country & it's people!!

  8. As GM goes, so goes the country...Unions/Democrats killed GM, now they are killing the country

Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the leftist Democrats did nothing for the first two years but attack and demonize every business in sight. The only ones spared were the ones lining up to give them campaign contributions and those feeding at the "green job" government trough. Obama has Immelt, GE CEO, as his jobs advisor! This clown headed a company that paid no taxes and sent tens of thousands of jobs over seas. But I'm sure all that was forgotten as long as that campaign contribution check cleared OK.

Yes, as Rev. Wright was fond of saying... "the chickens have come home to roost" for Obama and the Democrats. When one has no experience running anything and has no clue how our economy works, you can't be surprised when he totally mucks up the country by being a far left ideologue instead of a real President. The fact is there will be no recovery until businesses see Obama run out of town and Obamacare repealed. The great Democrat socialist nightmare will end when Obama hits the road to Chicago in 2013.
